Mixed emotions
I didn't mean to buy this book. I do not celebrate Christmas and certainly topic of book. I struggled over sitting down to read and for shorter and shorter periods of time JUST trying to completevbook. I also am not a cat person and love dogs. Thankfully the last two chapters were great and since I too was a ballet performer in high school really enjoyed the rest of the book. It was well written and not enjoyed due to my personal opinions and not the subject I would have willingly chosen. Enjoy it and you won't be sorry.

Love Love Love
Susan Mallery has a habit of introducing secondary characters that just steal your heart. Then you have to wait what seems like forever to finally read their book. This book is one of those books. I could not wait to read Evie Stryker's book ever since we "saw" a glimpse of her in Rafe Stryker's book Summer Days. It also didn't hurt that she based Evie and Dante Jefferson's story, another secondary character I couldn't wait to learn more about, during Christmastime. You don't have to read the rest of the series to thoroughly enjoy this book, but it certainly doesn't hurt to get to know the three Styker brothers. The chemistry between Evie and Dante is hot hot hot, something I have come to expect from Miss Mallery's books....and she never disappoints. I have been hurting for Evie since day one and I really wanted to find out how she could overcome the distance her family put between her and themselves. Also, I was dying to find out if she would stay in Fool's Gold and if Dante would find what he was looking for in life. I am always anxiously awaiting Miss Mallery's next book and this was no exception!

Another Great Fool's Gold Story
I have read all of Susan Mallory's Fool's Gold books and purchased this one as soon as it was available. I loved how Evie and Dante were both afraid to love because they had been hurt in the past, but were able to overcome their fears. Having read the previous books, it was good to catch up with the previous characters and their families, especially the Stryker Family with all the dynamics of the past going on.I found the description of Evie's teaching dance and the preparation for the big night fascinating. I live in a small town and could see many of the same characteristics, like everyone knowing everyone, many festivals and happenings, etc. I loved how the town was really into Christmas and it should put anyone reading the book into the Christmas spirit. One of the things I really like about Susan Mallory's books is that she tells a wonderful story and you feel the love between the couples. Susan writes about the love scenes in such a way that you know and feel what is happening without all the explicit details. I feel her reader base is probably larger because of this.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and every book I have read by Susan Mallory (33 books at ths point).

... by Susan Mallery is one of my all time favorite stories. I have loved this whole series
"A Fool's Gold Christmas (Book 10 in Fool's Gold Series" by Susan Mallery is one of my all time favorite stories. I have loved this whole series, and if you haven't read any of these books I highly recommend them. If you're starting with this book you can follow along as it can be a read alone book. The author does an amazing job in describing the town, and the towns people. Evie Stryker is in charge of the dance studio when the owner ran off to elope. She is in charge of the Christmas program and her studio is right above the office of Dante Jefferson. Both of them are at a cross roads in their lives and neither one of them is looking for love....just a good time, or so they thought. WANT TO KNOW MORE? You'll need to read this story.

3.5 stars, similar to all the other Fools Gold books
I have read all Fools Gold and managed to read this whole book in one day. I liked the story about Dante & Evie but found myself a little bored because it followed the same formula as the other fools gold books, in almost every aspect right to the ending. I don't think it was worth the $9.99 I paid, but still will keep reading this series.Since there are so many reviews already that tells the story I will say that I did like Dante & Evie. I found them to be a great couple, both hurt by love and family issues from the past. I like that they clicked right away, I wish there would have been some hotter love scenes, I would rate the few PG-13 maybe. The bulk of the book is about Evie teaching dance and trying to figure out the Christmas Eve dance production. Dante and her fall into a couple routine all while telling each other they are just friends helping each other through the holidays. The whole town comes together to help Evie get ready for the Christmas Eve show, it was great seeing ALL the previous book characters and catching up with their marriages & families. Over the month of December Evie realizes she is falling in love with Dante. Dante remembers he never wants to be in love and pushes Evie away which breaks Evie's heart. And like all the previous books all the women in town showed up on Evie's doorstep to help get over her broken heart. I think Susan Mallery cut, copy, and pasted that scene from the previous books. Than the books ended with the big Christmas Eve production and of course the drama of how we get to the happy ending. All and all it was a cute story that I enjoyed reading, I like the characters, the town and of course the happy ending but I just didn't LOVE it. I do look forward to reading Gideon story soon and continuing the series.

Fool's Gold is the perfect small town
This is another book with the familiar Fool's Gold citizen's - Mayor Marsha, Heidi, with Priscilla the elephant, Priscilla's barnmates, the triplets and their children, Jo's bar and so many more. This is the story of a ballet dancer, who can't dance because of an injured leg and one of her brother's partner and best friend. This is a story of 2 people who don't think they can be loved and are afraid to try. Instead, they become close friends who encourage each other and try to help each other to overcome their past.I love Fool's Gold and it's citizens, customs, quirks and friendships. This book is perfect for those who love small towns and those who just enjoy reading about them.

Just too sugary
I like the Fools Gold series and was looking forward to Evie's book but, unfortunately, the fact that the story was set at Christmas caused the author to introduce too much sweetness to the plot - too much for me, that is, others may enjoy this better. The romance between Evie and Dante was fine and as believable as it ever is in these books but it was quite lightweight as the author wanted to ram home messages about forgiveness and helping one another and so we had lots of scenes where everybody is very supportive and rallies round to help. When cute children dancing, Christmas and a public declaration of love were added to the story I found it all a bit too much. The book isn't badly written but I found that the heartwarming elements were too much. I also thought that Evie's relationship with her family was mended in an unbelievable way. It was all too sugary for me.

Great reading!
Fool's Gold is a community I wish I could live in. It is filled with good solid people, who have some flaws and quirks like all of us yet can be relied upon to be there for each other when needed. Always there with practical help or with casseroles when a bit of moral support or celebrating is warranted. The heroes are invariably good guys, while the women are lovable and strong, probably helped by the fact that, by some fluke, women in Fool's Gold are in the majority and this man shortage has allowed them to shine in jobs that are normally held down by men and made them self-confident and self-reliant.I read the first three boxed sets of this series and was a bit disappointed that the story of Evie, found in the last book of volume III was not satisfactorily resolved, therefore imagine my delight when I downloaded this volume arbitrarily, because I love the author's skill in telling a satisfactory story, and it practically picked up where the last volume of the 3 box sets let off. A very pleasant coincident.Three cheers for Evie for being willing to forgive her less than perfect youth and for her desire to reconcile with her family, three cheers for her mother May for being willing to acknowledge the mistakes she had made ... three cheers for the author for writing stories of forgiveness and redemption and unconditional love in such a warmhearted and humorous way.She has written herself right into my list of favorite authors by sticking with familiar names and characters throughout this whole series, making us feel at home in every book, yet coming up with an original, different and gripping romance in each. This must have been hard to do, despite her basic writing skills, so how can I give her less than a five for this and the fact that she gave me closure in connection with Evie!!! <smile>Just one little plea: Susan Mallery could you please give us a short epilogue to the books, I always find the endings a bit too abrupt!
