Bernat Maker Home Dec Yarn, 8.8oz, Guage 5 Bulky Chunky, Steel Blue

This Maker Home Decor Yarn from Bernat is unique and perfect for a 4 season afghan or throw.This is not traditional yarn. Instead, it is a knitted tube of T-shirt material. The fiber content is 72% cotton and 28% nylon so it's smooth and easy to knit and the nylon content keeps it from shrinking. It's a Bulky 5 weight. The recommended size knitting needles are 8mm or US size 11. The recommended crochet hook size is 8mm or US size L/11.I'm making a twin size blanket and I find this so nice to knit with. Because it is a smooth tube, there is no splitting of the yarn or fuzziness if you have to rip out some stitches. The resulting knitted fabric is not warm like wool so it's perfect for Texas weather. It's weighty when worked up and will be a nice, heavy top layer in colder months.I got the Pacific Variegated and it has faded blue gray, light aqua and pea green colors that knit into a pleasing camo pattern in cool, beachy colors. I purchased this yarn in the aqua solid to create a contrasting border and it matches perfectly. Also, I wasn't able to find enough in one dye lot so I got as many different dye lots as possible and the result is fine - probably because this is a variegated yarn.So far, I have only found one cut and tie in 3 skeins so the I'm pleased with the quality.

This yarn is a t shirt fabric type of yarn. It’s made of cotton & nylon. It’s made like the Easy Peasy Wooble yarn, but it’s a tad wider and is so very soft. It’s considered to be a #5 bulky yarn. It crochets just like the EP yarn, so Easy to see your stitches. The skeins are very big. I made a Penguin with it, and next yr will be making a basket and a Triceratop Dinosaur. Love this yarn and it comes in a variety of colors!!

This yarn is easy to work with and easy to see, but most importantly, for roughly the same price you could buy a palm sized skein of "beginner" yarn, you can get a jumbo skein of this yarn, which is the same kind of texture but a much better quality.I attached photos of a scarf I'm working on, which is my second project with this yarn (the first was just a granny square) and you can see in the pics I still have a bunch of yarn left, and that's only ONE of the two that come in the bundle. Must have. When they run out of this stuff I'll shed real tears.

Very good quality yarn to work with! Wish there were more colors to choose from

This was my first time purchasing this yarn. It is soft and chunky. I'm using it to crochet an afghan with a size L hook. It is worth noting that the core of the yarn is white. I would have given it 5 stars, but some of the skeins had knots in the middle, appearing as if the yarn was pieced/joined together.UPDATE: I just used another skein, and there were 4 knots in it! Very disappointed. It is even more of an issue with this color because you can really see the white core when there are multiple knots. At least I'm not giving this item as a gift; that would exacerbate the problem for me.

I love the texture and color of this yarn. Very vibrant and durable.

I just started crocheting baskets with this yarn.So easy to use, and work is neat. This is my favorite brand. The price is high due to demand. I wish it was more readily available, and more affordable. However, I am willing to pay more for quality, and this definitely is quality!

I love this yarn! Love. The color is just so bright and beautiful and it just stands out in an amazing way. The consistency of the thickness is good too, but there were parts in the ball that was tied together like it had been cut apart. Sometimes you can hide it in your work and sometimes you cant! So to fix the look you have to cut some yarn out and if there's too many knots or ties it could be a waste of yarn. Other than that I'm very happy. I made a beach bag out of this yarn so far and its just so sturdy. I plan on making rugs and pillow cases with this too. I recommend for the amount you get, the beautiful color, and the high quality. Great yarn. I wasn't expecting to love it so much
