They are dishwasher and microwave and oven safe. They are durable, can't tell you how many times I think I have broken them and they are not even chipped! They are also quite beautiful with different patterns, which I love how they still obviously go together but they have individual designs with different flowers and butterflies. I was afraid the dishes would be broken but they came perfectly! Very nicely and safely packaged for transport. Perfect and durable weight and size for them all.
