Q: How is this a 24piece? I only count 17 in the pic.. 19 including the book and bag

It's very misleading in my opinion but they count the 5 rubber stoppers that sit atop the liquor pourers. So you get 14 actual drink mixer pieces, 1 wooden caddy, a book, a bag, 2 cleaning brushes and 5 rubber stoppers. The truth is doesn't sound as impressive!

Q: Does the gold color fade over time with use?

No it hasn't faded. I've used my set since July and have hand washed it and put it in the dishwasher and it still looks new. No rust, no fading, no chipping.
