This book, with other source material will support my own ideas for art and craft projects - it's really quite a ueful little guide - I like it.

This book is full of ideas that can lend themselves to stitching, colouring and anything else you can imagine.

This is an outstanding resource for creative folks who would like to work from a template, or to get ideas for designing a project. The book is very well laid out, and although it’s old, the designs are still relevant in a lot of ways today. Sections of the book include: - Borders (narrow, and medium & wide), - Corners, Centers and Powderings (small and large) - All-Over Patterns - Wreaths - Birds and Butterflies - Tablecloth Centers and Cushion Squares - Sprays - Index of MotifsAll of the designs are delicate and floral or nature related. The introduction also comes with a few pages of embroidery stitches instruction and diagrams.Overall, a lovely book that I’ll be using for a long time!

Blackline masters of numerous floral, insect, and avian designs...suitable for needlework not only from the Renaissance through the 17th & 18th centuries, but into the 19th & early 20th centuries as well. The designs are drawn in various sizes & configurations, and will work as is, but can also be enlarged &/or recombined into an amazing array of original designs. As a living history performer, I know that I will be using these designs not only for embellishing my personal gear, I will also use some of the simpler designs to work with students and patrons wishing to try their hands at various crafts "from the olden days." This book is exactly what I have needed.
