The system seems pretty straightforward. I had no problem installing it. However the anti-siphon sprayed water everywhere when filling the tank. After about two weeks it stopped working. The light on the sensor would flash. I would unplug and replug the light would stay on but would not pump water to the main tank. It doesn’t have a sensor for the top off tank so it will continue to try and pump water even if the tank is empty.

It is a pretty awesome set up for the money. The only downside though is that I have my top off container right at about 3 to 3 1/2 feet below the top of the tank. And through my testing it has a very hard time getting water up that high. it has been working, but it does kick off on the water signal. And the only way that it thinks it’s a low water signal is if it sees an extended period of time that it did not do water top off. So it as soon as it is running dry. But the same occurrence happens if the pump is not pumping. Anyways, it’s really not bad for the money and I’m going to keep it until they completely goes out which it may last for a while who knows.

Doesnt get any better than not worrying about your water getting below or needing to top off. This does the job and the product feels nice. Little bit overpriced in my opinion.

This is a decent buy, I'll give it 3 stars overall. The pump output is very slow. Head height is a big concern. The over the tank clip provided is terrible. WILL NOT work for acrylic tanks as the rim is too wide. I'm not sure how long the pump will last, but I plan to cut the power and wire directly to a solenoid valve direct to a water supply. Good price compared to others, which appear to be more expensive version of the same design. For what it's worth, I bought a second for my other tank.

I got this on sale for $42. It functions about the same as other ATOs with the same sensor design, the cheapest one i know of besides this one is about $70. Overall I'm very happy with this for the price.Positives:-Price!-I like that this one does not turn on the light all the time since I do not want a green light on in my tank 24/7. It comes on while filling instead of staying on constantly.-Its quiet, no beeping.Negatives:-Instructions are lacking and it does not fit a rimmed tank properly with the included mount. I had to trim the circular part of the mount it came with using a hacksaw. I then rotated it so the screw is pressing against the underside of the rim. It feels pretty secure this way.

I’m a believer that you don’t need to buy the most expensive aquarium gear for it to work well. Usually I’ve been a big fan of Jebao products and trust them to be reliable. This unit is super easy to setup, but that’s where the good stuff ends.This system isn’t reliable. Everyday or two the pump isn’t working and the unit is throwing an error code. I turn it off and back on and then it works for a couple of days before suffering from the same malfunction.Another big problem I’ve had with this is that the pump is super weak. I’m using this in a nano tank on a stand. This unit can barely get the water from the bottom of the cabinet into the tank. The pump is adjustable, and I’m running it on the highest setting and it’s still weak.Glad I kept the packaging because this thing is getting returned.

I was extremely happy with this ATO setup. Very easy to use and hasn’t failed me yet. I’ve had this one for about 4 months now.
