The story features an earnest young boy and we figure out alongside him who is friend and who is foe. You get a real sense of the danger and of the importance of breaking the law for a noble cause. The story is told at a brisk pace and makes for a good read aloud. It is written for ages 9 and up. The story is told from the perspective of Tyndale’s young assistant, Colin and carries the reader emotionally as the young boy grows in his respect and admiration for Tyndale. Although the reader may already know the outcome of William Tyndale’s story, it can still has a powerful impact. (When I finished the book there were a few tears in my eyes). Ours is a better world for people such as William Tyndale.One of the many reasons I think "The Bible Smuggler" is a great read is that while it was written in the late 1960's, it remains relevant.
