Win. Worth far more than the list price
I was skeptical at the lower price of the 2.0 version compared to the original. I'm glad I chose the 2.0.This is a very underrated and underpriced knife in my opinion.I use rigging knives/tools for late season and winter camping trips. Most of my tents and hammocks have thinner guylines that prove difficult to untie with bare hands in subzero temps. Marlin spikes help tremendously to loosen tight knots. The most beneficial components of this knife are the locking, straight-edged blade and the bail/bottle opener placement. For camping use a straight edge serves me better for small, camp carving tasks. The blade came sharp out of the box and only took a couple minutes to get it shaving sharp. And it utilizes a liner lock - bonus. The bail/bottle opener placement for carrying in a pocket is amazing. Most bails and lanyard loops stick out and get caught up in my pocket when I attempt to take out the knife. This bail folds up over the end of the knife. The bottle opener design is a little gimmicky, but why not give the bail another use.For my use, this knife is great. It's worth far more than the listed price. I don't know the reason for the low price but I'd happily pay more for these features.

2.0 Version!
The 2.0 version of the knife is exceptional quality. Very sturdy, extremely well made. The liner lock for the blade is very strong and the lock for the Marlin Spike is super strong as well. The 440 stainless will hold up well in salt conditions and the knife overall is weighty. The only major flaw with the knife overal is the Spike release. Traditionally, and like the 1.0 version, this doubles as a lanyard eyelet as there is no belt clip or case. Mariners knives almost always are attached to a lanyard. This knife forgo's the lanyard slot for a bottle opener and a knife shaped cutout instead of a proper lanyard slot. One can still be fassioned, however its not as straightforward as it needs to be to be done right.Takeaway, the knife is fantastic and I really like it. If you use these knifes professionally, I would pay careful attention to how you would rig the knife to your person for sailong or boat work before you commit to it! 🤙⚓

Dangerous - blade opens when marlin spike being used
After having done some research on good sailing knives we purchased this knife and have been extremely disappointed. The first time it was used the blade came open while the marlin spike was being used and cut a finger. Do not buy!

Good looking thin blade knife
This knife looks great. The scales provide some of the grippiest texture I have every experienced. The marlin spike is pretty close to perfect. So why am I returning it you ask? I use knives as tools at work. The blade’s spine is about as thick as a standard Swiss Army knife main blade despite being nearly twice as big. It is also heavy, lacks a pocket clip, functional lanyard hole and a thumb stud. The comparison image features one of my Spydercos.
