Lots of fun!
Wow, talk about value for money! This comes with loads of parts and full instructions to make all the models (13!), which all look like they ate going to take a while to construct. I haven't built it as I bought it as a gift for a friend's kid, but I'll try and add some photos once they've had a go at it. I think you need to pay attention to the 10+ age guidance, as there are lots of small parts and you are advised to use a pair of side-cutters to separate them, so definitely one for older kids. With the solar panel and a bunch of interesting stuff about gearing and movement styles, I think these would make an excellent addition to an after-school science or engineering club. To be fair, if the kid we're giving this to doesn't use it, I'm totally going to take it back and build it myself!

A fun robot set , construct 13 different designs, good value
This is a fun solar robot kit that will keep most children over 8+ busy for hours , especially if they like lego and other construction toys, there's also the science element and learning as you build and play which is good. There are 13 possibilities of different designed solar panel powered robots , each design is quite different and I should imagine it would take some time to build all 13 , so it's a fun toy you can go back to again and again, so you are getting good value for your money. My 9 year old son loves lego and building mechano sets, I handed him this set and without much help from me he built one of the designs himself as i watched and got the parts ready for him, the parts are well packaged and separated and numbered, the instructions are OK but could have been set out a bit better. Some children may need a little help with this set , but it is fun for adults too , the robot reminds me of Johnny five from the short circuit movies they are really cool designs.I love toys like this where children can build but learn things at the same time , for the price i think it's good value, younger children would struggle to build this set and there are a lot of small parts so adult supervision is advised. This is a really fun activity for the winter months, its a break from consoles and screens and there's a sense of achievement when you see the finished robot, I really like this set and so does my son, would recommend.
