A real life saver
I care for my 93 year old father who has Alzheimer's. Within the last year he has reached the phase where he will wake up extremely confused at night and sometimes try to go roaming in a house with stairs. I was very worried that he would end up falling while trying to get to the bathroom, or try going down the stairs unassisted at night, and I would never know. I bought this and it has been wonderful. Every time he has gotten up in the middle of the night, the remote has gone off and I have been able to get to him in time. More than once he has fallen out of the bed and I have been able to get him back up and make sure he was still okay. He has some terrible issues with voiding his bladder at night, and the diaper+booster pad+waterproof under pad does not always catch it all, so this little alert pad has definitely seen some things. After 3 months, it is still going strong. I got the set with the bed and chair alarm and together they have saved me from a lot of stressful worry as well as a LOT of potential bathroom "accidents". I highly recommend.

safety first, with respect
This alarm has made it so easy for us to keep track of our mother getting up at night. Our only problem has been that the care giver we occasionally had, forgot to turn on the hand held piece...duh! it is a perfect way to give mom more privacy and only have to go into her room to make sure she is ok when she gets up. I only wish I had gotten this sooner.

Works very well
I bought this to help with my stealthy little mom who could sneak out of bed (and potentially fall) before anyone knew what was happening. It’s proved to be well worth the expense and it alerted her caregiver immediately to a potential problem.

Works and works well
Good information on assembly and installation. Works well and is sensitive during night. Alarm is loud enough. Helpful and performs as promised

A great way to get more and better sleep while caring for an elderly person!
This pad was easy to place, but works best on a single bed. When placing it on a full size bed, the rubber bands attached are not long enough and will no doubt pull out the holes in the plastic due to tension. Plus the control panel is to hang down over the edge and on a full size bed this does not happen. Would be nice if the product was longer. However, it is a Great Motion Detector! I like that the client does not hear the alarm as it is located in the portable monitor. I started with the buzz/vibrate option and now just use the vibrate option as it is loud enough. I wish one could choose the vibrate option first rather than going thru from loud ring down to vibrate (as this awakens others in the room). The flash indicator is very bright and kept me awake at night, so I keep the monitor on a cloth, under a small box on the bedside stand ! It works! The flashing light is hidden, the vibrate is softened. When the client gets up, I do turn it off, as he sits at the bedside for a bit and it will alarm again when he stands. Then you have to restart it and choose your alarm - but doing this works to help others in the home sleep too! I am so glad I purchased this bed alarm as you are able to sleep better than having a 'nursery monitor' to listen to, wondering if the noise you hear is the client getting up. I hope the manufacturer will improve on these areas I mentioned. Well worth the cost.

Great product. Auto shutdown after a year sucks
This product is absolutely fabulous, immediately notifies me when my elderly father get up from bed. That can too late to prevent a fall. We have the bed against the wall and installed a guard rail on the side. This forces my father to shift to foot of the bed to stand up. When he moves beyond the thin sized alarm pad, the alarm sounds. The range is pretty good just to be safe we keep remote no more than 20’ away from the bed. The negative is the business model adopted by the company forcing people to buy a new pad after a year. This is advertised as ‘battery not replaceable’, implying the product stops working when battery dies. Hogwash! My pad stopped working. I got a new one and then opened up the transmitter module on the old one. It uses two CR2477 batteries wherein replacement is as simple as replacing batteries on car key fob. On my “expired” unit, the two CR2477 batteries are still showing 3.1 volts - aka. Perfectly fine. I replaced the batteries with fresh ones and the pad would still NOT work. I then poked into the circuit board. There is a 4mhz crystal to provide clock for the board; TM11-B which looks like a A to D converter; HR433M - transmitter to communicate to the handheld remote and HT24LC02 an EPROM where any custom logic is programmed. This has read/write nonvolatile memory. I am 99.5% sure that the company has implemented a time counter (of when device is on). When counted down to zero, it cuts the power to the status LED and to the transmitter. Shutting down a perfectly working device and passing it off as ‘battery not replaceable’ is really not acceptable. Lunderg- either tell me my above hunch is wrong or come clean with any valid reason on why you are shutting down the device. It is 5 stars for product usefulness and zero stars for this auto shutdown.

Game changer for safety!
My senior citizen mother-in-law recently had a stroke and also broke her hip when she fell. We brought her home to care for her after hip surgery and rehab, and we purchased the combo bed and chair alarms with the early warning system to protect her from falls. They are worth their weight in gold! They were easy to set up and activate using the link to the "how to" videos included in the instruction booklet. We have only had her home a few days, and due to some damage to her critical thinking from the stroke, she forgets that if she were to stand, she would immediately fall. Several times already, the alarm has promptly sounded as she has attempted to get up, and we were able to quickly get to her before she got out of her bed or her chair and get her safely to the bathroom. We both sleep much more soundly knowing that her bed alarm will go off in the night before she gets out of bed. We keep the receiver clipped on one of our hips during the day (the attached clip makes it easy), and on our bedside table at night. I tested it out upon receipt, and the pads were comfortable to lie/sit on under the bed sheet and positioning sheet on her bed, and under a small blanket on her chair, without undue crinkling or plastic noise. The bed monitor has stayed nicely in place on her bed with the use of the clips that are provided with the order. I can't recommend these products enough both for top quality functionality and peace of mind. Update 02/2024: Still working well, but be aware that very occasionally, the alarm pads will "unsync" from the receiver (has happened twice), and will need to be resynced for the alarm to work. Be sure to test that the pads are working by quickly pushing to apply pressure on the chair or bed where you have the alarm pads placed before seating your loved one. Resyncing is simple, but it's important to make sure it's working.

Saved father in law from falling numerous times.
This alarm has helped us tremendously. If we didn’t have that my father in law would have fallen so many times. I have it set to one side since his bed is against the wall we only have to worry about him getting out on one side. OMG! He has dementia & keeps trying to get up. The problem is he is 94 years old with dementia, but more agile than I am until he actually stands on his legs. His legs are weak & give out when he stands on them. The thing is he can hold them up together in the air as long as he wants while you get him dressed. I can’t do leg lifts like that. So getting up isn’t his problem, but once he’s up those same legs can’t hold him up. The alarm goes off, we immediately look at the camera & there he is getting up. It gives us enough time to dash downstairs to stop him. I don’t know what we’d do without it. I bought it in anticipation of him moving in with us because he was getting out of bed both in the hospital & at rehab. Great product, easy to install, works just as advertised. It has more than one setting. I have it so he can turn & reposition himself without setting off the alarm, but the moment he sits up & tries to get out of bed it goes off. Oh & its loud, you don’t have to worry that you will sleep through it. Not only is it loud it vibrates on my nightstand. Update: We love this device so much we bought the matching chair alarm. You pair it to the same alarm box. We have noted that occasionally (twice since mid February) it will become unpaired. It’s easy to pair it back to the device in 5-10 seconds. You just have to be careful because if you don’t notice & it becomes unpaired it’s useless, it won’t alarm & alert you. I’m convinced my father in law would have fallen & hurt himself by now if it weren’t for the alarm. We have a baby monitor with a couple of cameras watching him so if the alarm goes off we can see what he’s doing & actually talk to him to see why is he trying to get up. This has allowed us to safely sleep at night.
