Fovitec 2-Light Table Top Fluorescent Lighting Kit, 6" Reflectors, 30W Bulbs and 15" Light Stands for Product Photography, and Video Production

I help manage an online store for a local jewelry store so taking nice photographs is part of my job. I had tried making a white box myself but it didn't work very well so I gave up on that idea. I used to use natural light and use a dark wooden background which wasn't bad - but it's just not a professional look. I wanted something that looked pleasing to the eye, simple, and beautiful. I stumbled across this kit and loved that it has everything that you need. The box itself is a 'pop up' style. It's really light and easy to set up. I admit that I do not fold it up at all - it stays on my table in my work room so I can't really speak for how well it stands up to being folded up constantly. I've had play tents for my kids that were this style that didn't last long - so honestly - I'm nervous about that happening to this table top box that I will just leave it up. The light stands are adjustable in a few different ways. They are light weight - easy to set up - and the lights are nice and bright. The on/off switch is near the base and the cords are extra long. Invest in an extension cord so you don't have to fill up an outlet with both cords. I love that this comes with four different colored back drops. You get black, red, white, and a nice royal blue. They are easy to put on and easy to take back off. It's a hassle to get the wrinkles out - but - just take your time and you'll make some progress. Now, my 18 month old baby ran off with my digital Canon rebel battery and hid it somewhere so I only have my iPhone to take photos with for the time being. So far - I am SO SO SO happy with how they are turning out. I love the uniformed look for all the different items that I have to list and sell online. I mostly just use the white or black back drop. I'm still working out how to fully get rid of the shadows but I'll get there once I have time to research and play around with it more. I've had the box for about two weeks now and use it every single day. I'm so happy with this purchase and am kicking myself for not buying it sooner. My boss is also very happy with the photographs as well so if you are on the fence - take the plunge. You'll be so happy. I hope to find my camera battery soon as I'd love to see what a professional grade camera can produce image wise. Attaching some photos of different things that I've photographed in the white box. When I ran across this item in Amazon’s website catalog, it struck me as surprisingly expensive. It did require some machining to manufacture, and the workmanship is excellent. Still, I could have made an inelegant equivalent from a laboratory ring stand and at a fraction the cost. The first thing you’ll notice (in an era of manuals for even the simplest things, such as sharpening a pencil or flipping a light switch) is that there are no instructions with this product, which comes partly unassembled and folded up. Things are actually pretty straightforward, but if you are mechanically challenged, you might want a couple of minutes of help from someone who isn’t. The setup is seriously top heavy because the center of gravity of the lamp housing is not over the center pole. I accidentally knocked over the whole kit-and-caboodle twice, then one of the family kittens stepped in to do it a third time. I finally solved the problem by placing a 1-lb diving weight into the leg struts at the bottom. As there are no instructions, where does one get a replacement 30 W, 5500 K, fluorescent bulb in case one breaks or burns out? Well, if you can’t find the exact wattage, there are 27 W and 45 W lamps widely available. But wouldn't it have been nice if Fovitech told you that? If you want this item primarily to illuminate a light tent, as I did, note that the lowest you can get the axis of the fluorescent bulb is 1 ft off the table top—that by splaying the legs until the bottom of the center pole rests on the table. That means that if you want the lamp pointed straight at the middle of a rectangular side of a light tent, the tent must be at least 2 ft high. That was too high for my DIY 20-in cube, so I mounted the lamp housing perpendicular to the center pole, allowing a bulb-axis minimum height of about 9 in, but exacerbating the assembly’s instability. In sum, it’s a nice, useful product but there is considerable room for improvement. I'm stepping out of character with a five-star rating because this is a clever idea, fine workmanship, and it does function--but I hope Fovitech will take pains to make it even better.

I bought this to improve my eBay photos. It did! So simple to set up and use. After 8 months the only problem I have is the white plastic sheet is getting dirty (I sell lots of vintage, some of it auto/tractor parts) and has some scratches. Also, one of the velcro tabs came loose from the back. I reattached it with some gorilla glue and it's good again. I mostly use the white background but like having the option of other colors.The size of this box was my deciding factor, all the others were tiny. It's seldom I have an item that will not fit inside.The LEDs do get warm, which surprised me. Sometimes if the lights get too warm and I turn them off, they won't come back on immediately until cooled down. The cool off is usually just a few minutes. I try to remember to turn it off between items if I have a lot to photograph so it stays cooler.I'm very happy with the box and recommend it to others.

Muy buen producto, tengo un mini estudio en casa para fotos de productos y realmente mejoro mi forma de toma de fotos y calidad.Al principio me decepcione porque mi paquete llegó en mal estado pero la persona a cargo inmediatamente lo Resolvió y arreglo para que me llegara el equipo en perfecto estado, lo cual hizo que sintiera mucho mejor la compra!. Vale muchísimo la pena.

Day 1 review.Pros:- sturdy connections, although they are plastic.- good for the priceCons:- comes with UK plug (although bought on .de Amazon) - bad surprise.- easy to flip the construction if using a heavy lightbulb or wrapping softboxes.

Well packed but not large stands

Just the right size for table top photo shoots. They’re bright enough to provide ample lighting for various photo styles. I use them all the time.

The product is good but it is doing job of a regular lamp if you can just put a 30 watt cfl bulb. Nothing different. Moreover, you will need to buy an additional step down converter with this one . Value for money 2/5. I am rating 3/5 because of seller service. Including the bulb, you can get a lamp that can bend in 600rs per piece. In 1500 you can get same quality in India.
