Fantastic blender
I mostly make smoothies, but I used a lot of frozen berries as well as kale. My old Oyster blender did a good job (better than my ninja) but still left some seeds behind, especially with black berries. This blender works fantastic and really chops through seeds, and thicker veggies to make the smoothest smoothies I ever made. It's a big unit but it does have a very powerful motor. The settings are actually helpful and take the guess work out blending some things. I saw a youtube video where this was compared against a Vitamix and held it's own coming in 2nd in a group of about 5 or 6 blenders. For the price it's well worth it. The only thing I wish it had is, a) glass Jug b)easily removable blades. But things like that are becoming hard to come by and overall it's pretty easy to clean. All and all I think this absolutely the best blender you can get for the price and maybe a good Vitamix alternative.

Fabulous features! Great smoothies!
This wonderful blender was a great purchase. I owned a Vitamix previously but sold it when I moved...and missed it terribly! After settling in at a new location, I needed a new blender, but did NOT want to pay the high price for another Vitamix. Thus, after reading the reviews, I decided to give this Nutribullet a try. I am MOST impressed! I make a LOT of smoothies...with fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. It has GREAT power and pulverizes EVERYTHING! The big test was with chia seeds... it met the test! Not a single discernable bit of seed could be found in my smoothie! It didn't do QUITE as well with date bits and raspberry seeds.... some miniscule bits didn't quite blend up. Still, considering that the cost is about a third of a Vitamix, I am still QUITE satisfied with its performance. It is not too noisy, it is easy to clean (a quick blending of hot water and dish soap does the trick!), and the "smart" functions are really nice. Finally, regarding the lid: Some people complained it was difficult to put on and take off. I say, nonsense! Sure, it takes a bit of finesse, but it is certainly not rocket science! It is a GREAT safety feature because the machine won't run if the lid isn't on properly... AND ensures that nothing escapes when blending! In conclusion, it is a terrific machine and I recommend it most highly!

Great blender but really difficult to remove top
I really love this blender and would certainly buy it again. But, as delivered, it's almost impossible to remove the top with just 2 hands; I had to hold the pitcher between my knees to get the top off. There are a number of errors in the design here. There's a long tab on the top with pin that has to engage a hole in the handle before the unit will operate. And there are also 2 large U-shaped clamps that must engage matching bosses on the pitcher. The clamps are VERY tight and it was absolutely imposible to release both of them simultaneously while lifting the lid off. Oddly, it appears that these clips were designed to release if the top could be rotated - but it can't because of the pin mentiond above. All-in-all, a real design snafu. My solution was to A) prepare a pot of rapidly boiling water and then turn on some cold water at your kitchen sink; B) immerse one U-clamp in the boiling water for 30 seconds; C) immediately bend the clamp away from the pitcher as far as possible, being careful not to break it; D) while holding the clamp in this extended position, run cold water over it to retain the modified shape, and E) repeat A thru D for the second clamp. With this small modification the U-clamps will still grip the bosses securly enough to keep the top in place, but pushing up on the tab with your thumb is now enough to remove it.You'd better have room on your counter because this blender is huge - but it's a real powerhouse. It processes everything from ice to frozen strawberries or other fruit without blinking. The control arrangement and everything else about it is great and I'd certainly buy it again.

Run away!! Disappointed 😞
Update - it started leaking and won't crush ice after about a year. Customer service told me I could buy a new blade for $50. I've never had a blender fail this quickly. Total waste of money! It doesn't have the power I was hoping for. You can see in my picture there are still chunks of date left from trying to make a smooth. I used the smoothie function first followed by the frozen drinks function twice after adding ice. Given that it says frozen drinks one would think you could add ice to liquid and make a frappé style drink. It gets stuck trying to start and blends very unevenly. Given the price I was hoping for him much better result. Hoping it has a warranty or return policy.

Powerful and fast blender for... flour?! say WHAT? yep. I use it for making flour.
After weeks of researching ways to affordably create whole wheat flour from raw red wheat berries, I took a chance on this blender. And let me say, this blender is fantastic. it makes a very nice, fine powdered flour in about 60seconds on high. I can tell the motor is working hard as I can hear the tone change as it runs. I am seriously impressed. I was very strongly considering a Wondermill flour mill, but for 1/4 the cost and (basically) zero manual effort, I get consistent flour every time. We've made a dozen loaves of bread, and so far, all are very consistent. can't recommend this enough as a replacement for very expensive flour mills.
