Ingersoll-Rand 23474661 Pressure Switch for Single Stage Compressor SS3 And SS5

I’m not sure if people are just outright guessing and ordering the wrong part number but I bought one of the return switches. It was unused as I suspected and was the correct part number 23474661 The install was simple using a Phillips screwdriver, 7/8” wrench and 1/2” wrench.

Although the package indicated it was the proper replacement, the actual switch (which looked identical but had a different part number) was for a high pressure system. It's pressure cut off was set for 175 PSI. If installed and turned on, it could cause your tank to explode.

The switch should turn the compressor at 100 PSI and stops at 135 PSI. The received switch ranges between 90 and 125 PSI. The pressure is too low.
