Dazzling Fire (Djinn Curse Book 2)

An excellent continuation of the series
Two Hearts Asunder is an excellent continuation of Ingrid Seymour's Djinn Empire, which began in One Wish Away. It has all the great signature elements of that book, wonderful world building with an exciting plot (including just a touch of romance), well developed lead characters that continue to grow (especially in the case of the female lead, who is finally starting to mature, as very much needed) and a great supporting cast (especially Abby and Maven, who really come into their own). The stakes are much higher here, though, and the plot itself has had a shot of adrenaline reflecting this. It's no spoiler (as it's included in the author's blurb) to note that the H and h, Faris and Marielle, spend much of this story apart, but the author deals with this effectively by alternating the POV of her leads and then also adding in the POV of the main villain, Akeelah, which enables the reader to truly get a sense of how twisted and evil that villain is. This alternating POV tool works very well and is yet another element making this an excellent tale.About my only real criticism of this book is that it has s cliffhanger. I hate 'em. If they don't bother you, add a star, if you find them intolerable then subtract s star or two. The story is good enough that I enjoyed it despite the cliffhanger, hence my four stars, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next book!

A great sequel to "One Wish Away"!
Quite honestly, I was not sure what to expect with this novel. The first installment in this series felt like it could have been a stand alone novel, with a few tweaks. I started this book thinking there was not much more story to tell. However, I was wrong and really enjoyed Two Hearts Asunder! The book picks up where the last one left off, with Faris and Marielle concerned for their safety from the Djinn, Akeelah. Their goal: to get rid of her once and for all so they can be together. This book incorporates Akeelah much more, as well as Marielle's friends Mavin and Abby, which I liked. There are some fairly dark and violent parts, but nothing too bad that a wimp like me couldn't handle! This is a fast read and great for teens and fans of YA. It's also very different from the common vampire/werewolf YA themed novels, as it takes a spin on the "Djinn", a subject rarely tackled. In conclusion, I recommend reading this series for anyone who enjoys YA/fantasy novels. I can't wait to read the final book in the series! * I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Just loved it.
The sequel to "One wish away" is continuing where we left the main characters fighting evil True evil never seems to completely be destroyed and this is the beginning of the story here. The story of Faris and Marielle continues, fighting Akeelah, who wants to rule the world - djinn style.I was lucky to have received this book as an ARC. I had already read the first story and looking forward to reading the next one before it was published. I gladly agreed to review.A thrilling story, difficult to put away for day-to-day- life tasks. The book should be read during the holidays, so one has no interruptions.

Great
Marielle and Faris are enjoying their new life together, but the joy is short-lived. Akeelah has not forgotten about them and is working on making her evil plans a reality! Confronted with magic that far exceeds his own and the realization that keeping Marielle safe may be beyond his power, Faris struggles to keep Akeelah at bay. With murders, sociopathic organized criminals, blood and betrayal, this book is definitely a lot darker than the first. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can honestly say I liked it better than One Wish Away. I can't wait for book three!

What would you do to save the person you love?
Akeelah is a very, very mad character! And Faris and Marielle are really one of a kind... Each one trying to save the other, no matter what the costs could be, even the anihilation of all mankind. This is a kind of tragic love, when you thought everything is OK and they finally could have their HEA, something really bad happens! I hope Zet could find the force to forgive his brother and obtain his freedom...One star less for the cliffhanger. It is one of the best new series I've read this year so far. I recommend this book.

Your Next Must Read Book Has Arrived.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. I am hooked on this series. I thought Book 1 (One Wish Away) was awesome, but Two Hearts Asunder had me flipping pages and biting my cuticles. This book ramps up the action and (mis)adventure. I love the way the characters are continuing to grow and the storyline is being more deeply developed. Ingrid Seymour delivers an emotionally charged rollercoaster ride. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a Kim Harrison type adventure.I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A masterful piece of writting.
This is such a great story. The second installment in the Djinn Empire Series, 'Two Hearts Asunder' picks up where the first left off and drives right into things. Love is a foot, yet short lived, which, soon follows despair, and then revenge. You should remember that each book is like a piece of the whole, which means they are enjoyable and they leave no room for fluff. The author is brilliant at conveying this story and moving the plot. It's a tricky thing to do in most cases and not a lot of authors have the chops to do it, but Seymour does. A Recommended read.I was given a complimentary copy from the author and have willingly left an honest and unbiased review.

Action and heart pumping!
Just as things begin to settle down for Faris and Marielle things go crazy again. A djinn may not be able to physically harm a human, but it's easy to find other twisted humans who would do anything for power and money. Faris chooses to leave out of his own choice with Akeelah believing he is sparing Marielle, but Akeelah is not exactly known for keeping her word. On the other hand Marielle would do all she can to get Faris back safely...even contact a recluse Djinn expert. It may not have been the best idea she ever had....
