It also might be awkward to mount the blue mic onto a boom pole. **Q: Can i use any rode mics on this?** A: You can use almost any mic on this. The holder attachment it comes with works with most shotgun mics, but you can replace the holder with whatever other attachment you want. **Q: What diameter is the pole? I want to mount this to a C Stand using a swivel but need to know what size swivel to purchase.** A: The lower (larger) section of the pole above the padded area is about 1 1/8 in in diameter (3.5" circumference) . A little too large for most C Stand knuckles. Also the walls of the tube are quite thin (to keep the weight down) so clamping it into knuckle may not be a good idea. You're probably better off using a boom arm. **Q: Does this come with an internal cable? It looks like it does in the picture** A: No internal cable. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow...this is much nicer than I expected *by on Reviewed in the United States January 20, 2020* I recently picked up a Rode shotgun mic and while a shock mount on my camera is sufficient for most of the projects I do, there are some occasions (i.e. field recordings, short narrative films) where a boom really comes in handy. I knew that I would likely only be shooting with a boom 2-3 times a year, so I didn't want to pay hundreds for a boom pole, but I also didn't want something flimsy or noisy.I didn't think I'd find anything that met my needs under $100, and I was skeptical about this one when I saw it was under $50. Honestly, the only reason I bought it was because I've been extremely happy with other Neewer products I've purchased (especially my dual dimmable/full color spectrum LED light kit, which is INCREDIBLE for the cost).My expectations were exceeded as soon as I took the pole out of the box. It's definitely "all there", much more metal than plastic, and it didn't feel like a toy. While it was solid, it wasn't "heavy", and really well weight-balanced. The extension locks are high-quality, and it includes three nice velcro straps for locking down your XLR cable. There are upper and lower padded hand grips that, while not incredibly comfortable, I don't see being an issue after a couple hours of use.I only have a few hours of time with this pole (mostly shooting field recordings), but I've experienced no unwanted noises caused by the pole, and it has worked well in a number of indoor and outdoor environments, from fully closed down to full extension.Great job Neewer--keep it up! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy, easy to use. *by on Reviewed in the United States August 6, 2026* Works well, sturdy construction.
