Thank you for a quality product that goes right to work flawlessly.
My 26-year-old inground concrete storm cellar has a lid with a seam that has failed and has leaked the past 6 or 7 years, so always 6 inches or so of standing water in it. I finally stepped up and bought this Jackson pump from past years of using bilge units for our boat that have worked on D batteries. Can't tell you what a pain those bilge pumps have been, with the short silicone hose and if you forget and leave one in the cellar the humidity and the slowly filling cellar just corrodes the batteries in it and you're done. Also, the bilge pumps don't have the power to make the vertical up and out, or too short of silicone hoses so had to haul the water out in a bucket. After the first use of this Superior Pump, you can bet your butt I wanted to hug the necks of everyone at Superior Pump for manufacturing and designing this awesome pump!!! And so affordable when I think back on what I've spent on D batteries alone. Pump hooked up easily to a standard garden hose and pulled the hose up out of the cellar and across the yard. Plugged the pump into an outdoor extension cord with ground and lowered the pump down into the deepest corner of the water. Plugged it into the GFI outlet we use for our pool pump just to be extra safe and immediately this pump went to work. I couldn't hear it pumping as I was by the pool, but it is a quiet pump, but I immediately saw the water coming out of the hose like a turned on spicket (spigot but I prefer the slang American spelling. ) You will be impressed with the power and force you to get with this small plug in pump! Made quick work of the 6X8 cellar's flooded floor. Has a release jet that I don't remember the actual function but it worked great keeping the mud and debris that comes in through the cellar's ventilation away from the screened suction bottom of the pump. Everything worked beautifully and I just want to say thank you to the men and women at Superior Pump for creating a flawless, quality product that goes straight to work & made in the USA.

Great little pump. Impressed.
This pump worked great for our 4 person jacuzzi. Emptied it in about 45 minutes. Easy to use. Design and very sturdy. They water flow and suction is great. After we washed it and rinsed we use to get more water out. Had a little problem getting it to work second time. BIG HINT make sure hose is not kinked. Need to put something down so unit is not touching the jacuzzi. I used a wire cake rake.

So far, so good.
My wife and I have an above ground 15' x 5' pool, and since the weather gets rather cold here in North Dakota, we decided to drain the water so we could take it down. There was only one problem. She had lost the attachment for the pool drain and we needed to find a replacement. Unfortunately the needed adapter (where a standard 3/4" garden hose attaches to the pool wall valve) was an uncommon size only available in the UK so I couldn't purchase one stateside and the online UK distributor had them on backorder. I knew that if we didn't drain the pool, we would need to replace it come spring. Luckily this pump was available for a fraction of the cost of a new pool. Straight out of the box I was able to attach a standard garden hose to it and daisy chain a second hose to the 1st and so far its draining just fine. The pump has a long enough cord on it to keep the plug out of the pool (still needed an extension cord to reach inside the garage, but no big deal) and runs very quietly. There is just a very slight hum/vibration, but I was surprised. The pump has been running for about 25 minutes now, and although it's not pumping as fast as I thought it would (based on other reviews and my math), the pool IS draining. Since I'm just running the water into a storm drain in the street, though, I guess it's a good thing, since I don't want a thousand gallons of water rushing down in a big deluge. I've deducted one star since I had expected it to work a little faster (some reviews said 30+ gallons/minute which would mean my pool should empty in half an hour or so) but all in all it's working, and that's what matters. Construction seems sturdy, heavier than I thought for a small unit, but doesn't weigh a ton. I will keep an eye out for rust and corrosion as mentioned in a few other reviews and edit this review if anything comes up, but for the time being, I'm satisfied with my purchase! The included standard garden hose adapter was a big plus. ***** EDIT: Pump has been running for about an hour and a half now, and although it's still functioning fine, the pool still has a TON of water in it. However, since I'm only using a garden hose to discharge/drain the water, the output is going to be considerably less than if I had a larger sump style hose on it, which is why it's taking forever. Duh, my bad. Had I used a bigger hose it might be going much faster. But at this rate I'm guessing that I'll have several more hours ahead of me, maybe even a full day. I also realized that I forgot to comment on the fact that I do like that this particular style of pump does not have a float bob on it like most sump pumps have. Since it's a continuous on/off and sucks from the bottom, it should be able to draw up much more water in the end, leaving only 1/4" of standing water or so inside the pool as other reviewers have noted. A float bob would have been cumbersome for this particular operation because once the water drained down to the level of the float, it would have shut itself off and left several inches of standing water remaining in the bottom of the pool. I'll just have to be diligent about checking in on this little pump periodically as to not burn out the motor since there is no on/off switch or auto-off function. Once you plug it in, it automatically runs until you unplug it, which is both good and bad, depending on your application. Apparently there IS a way to use it with a float bob (not included), but to be honest I never read the manual (yeah, I know...) and I just fired it up and tossed 'er in the pool. Also, there IS a bit of water spraying out from where the garden hose connects to the pump, but at 10pm I'm not about to investigate to determine if the hose is a tad loose, the garden hose needs a new o-ring gasket, or if it is an issue with the pump itself. Its 31° outside, the pool water is FREEZING cold, and I'll just deal with it. I don't care if it's the pump or the hose or operator error at the moment.

Great Pump
Excellent pump—quiet, reliable, and it moved 5,000 gallons out of my pool without any issues. My calcium levels were way too high, and since I’m in Florida, I have to be cautious with plaster pools because removing too much water at once can cause cracking. I placed the pump in the deep end and added fresh water from the shallow end at the same rate. The exchange took about 56 hours. I was also using a 100' 5/8-inch hose, which definitely reduced the flow rate, but the pump still performed well. In the end, I dropped my calcium hardness by more than 100 ppm. Overall, very satisfied.

A basic, good flow rate pump. Time (and more use) will tell how satisfied I am with this.
Seems well made. Worked solidly the one time I used it. Very good flow rate, fairly quiet. We will see how she performs over time.

Extrae la mayor parte de liquido, dejando un nivel pequeño de agua. Adecuado cuando se extrae el nivel pequeño de agua de un tinaco.

We had a big job this spring to remove the water that had accumulated in our pool cover over the winter and spring. It was at least 2 1/2 ft. deep. In order to save the clean water which accumulated from rain and melted snow and recycle it back into the pool, we needed a system to pump it from the cover to the pool. I read many of the reviews from Amazon customers who had the same chore to do. One suggested we put the pump onto something to make sure it didn't suck up the cover as it pumped out the water. So my husband found a plastic "milk" crate, often used to put recyclables out for the garbage truck and used it to house the pump. He fastened a rope to the crate and sunk it down on top of the winter pool cover into the water and ran a hose underneath the cover to recover the water. It worked slick. Over a three day period it took about 8 hours to suck out the water from the winter cover. We are both extremely pleased and have other uses for this pump in the future as well. This summer my husband plans to use it as part of a solar heater for the pool.

This pump is awesome. I bought it in 2015 and we've used it every spring and every heavy rain for several hours per day to remove water from our flooded driveway (sometimes up to 12 inches of water!). Easy to setup and store. The motor finally burnt out after over 10 years of service. I'm not even going to bother researching a replacement, this one has earned our loyalty and I'll be purchasing another.

It is a good product in terms of design, durability, body quality. Controlled by plug-in/out. Consider, 1/4 HP, so you have to buy one depend on your needs. 1/4 HP output flow is in range of small to medium needs take long time if you want drain big space.
