From his wisdom of realization and scholarship, A Torch Lighting the Way to Freedom is a deeply compassionate expression of the vital limbs of Buddhist training expressed in a realistic manner. I appreciate what a challenge it is to precisely convey the true meaning of the original words, sustain the flavor of their expression in the Tibetan, and somehow render them into natural, readable English. The Padmakara Translation Group has done an amazing job. Having had the great good fortune to meet Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, I will cherish and recommend this text to anyone interested in a truly authentic and practical guide to Dharma practice from one of the greatest enlightened teachers of this or any time.

Wow, such an incredible book. Profoundly insightful even when I have had an extensive background in Buddhism. The body of the text expains the whole Buddhist path and then ends with a concise Sadhana which contains all of it and can be practices daily. Mind blown! Many blessing, may all beings benefit!

This is the most complete teaching on ngondro I have ever received. The text is the profound path to complete enlightenment in the tradition of the Dudjom treasure teachings written by Khabje Dudjom Rinpoche, Jidral Yeshe Dorje himself. It’s excellent!

As a Vajrayana practitioner of the Dudjom Tersar since the mid-70's, as well as a teacher for the last twenty years of the same, this text has been invaluable to myself and students of students doing their Foundational practices. I had the great blessing of seeing and receiving teachings and transmissions from HH Dudjom Rinpoche on many occasions. It is hard to describe such an extraordinary being, except to say he touched my heart at the very core.

Commentary on the Longchen Nyingthik Ngondro, similar in content to "WORDS OF MY PERFECT TEACHER", but from Dudjom Rinpoche's perspective. One significant difference is the lack of any mention of the Kusali Chod. This is a wonderful book for any serious Vajrayana practitioner.

If you like to know about practices in Vajrayana with the Nyingma School, this book should not be missed. It covers the qualities of teacher and students as well as giving clear explanations about the attitude of practice when one starts to take Buddhism seriously.
