Can it be used to carry the cat

Hi, not really. Quite flimsy but you could use it as a cat bed I guess. It folds up flat, you can somewhat see it on the photo as there is a fold in the middle of sides. Hope this helps

Is this suitable to use without litter tray liners? My kitten attacks them and pulls them out so liners are completely unsuitable for us.
