desertcart.com: Psychic Development for Beginners: An Easy Guide to Releasing and Developing Your Psychic Abilities: 8601404345586: William W. Hewitt: Books Review: Now, I know what you're thinking...Hey! It works!! - Many years ago, I visited Lilydale and met with a gentleman who was then in his late sixties or so. He told me what his definition of being psychic was. "It's being in control of your life". I nodded knowingly. I didn't have a clue as to what he meant. This book has been criticized as having a bunch of stupid, useless exercises in it by one reviewer. I'm not surprised. Most of us are looking for those Cecil B. DeMille moments to become excited about. We want to join that group that is making a lot of noise about an issue and promising grand results. We're not too concerned by those who say, "Hey, this is simple and you can do it quietly at home. The trick is to keep at it". The exercises in this book are designed to hone skills that would, indeed, increase your abilities as a psychic. They also will help to make you a more thoughtful, aware human being. Not all that exciting to some. This is a thoughtful book. I like it. Remember these lines from a Robert W. Service poem: "And each forgets, as he cuts and runs with his brilliant, fitfull pace, it's the steady, quiet, plodding ones who win in the lifelong race". Good luck if you purchase this book. I don't think you'll go wrong. Review: Positive & powerful - I’ve not ever read this subject matter because as a young person I was a devote in my Christianity & was told to stay away. You can be a Christian & a practicing psychic. (I’m a Zen Buddhist, for those of you keeping score.) Now that I’m much older I wish I would have read this book years ago. But I digress, this is a straight forward easy to read book with practical exercises anyone will benefit from. Does it hurt anyone if you are more aware? I have had spiritual experiences before, now I can put them in context. I highly recommend this book. It is positive, teaches you how to protect yourself and get results beneficial to yourself & others.

This Is The Book To Learn About ESP
When I bought Psychic Development for Beginners, I had expected a lot of useless New Age silliness but I was surprised to find that the author really knows his subject. He knows that the true key to psychic abilities is being able to enter the theta state, and points this out quite often. The only problem is that the exercises he has, doesn't help much to achieve that end, though. If you could enter that elusive theta brainwave state, then the exercises would be of considerable value but those exercises won't help you get into alpha or theta; you have to figure that out for yourself it seems. But that matter aside, the author covers a lot of ground and provides considerable and reliable information for someone who has no previous knowledge of ESP and psychic phenomena other than what they might have seen in the movies or on TV. This is indeed a very good book for begining psychics and I don't know of any book that's any better.

Just as the title says ... Easy Guide
With all the choices available on psychic development it's hard to know which one to choose. I am so glad I came across this one. I know some people have negatively mentioned the cases or stories the author relates, but I personally found them interesting and helpful. They are included as illustrations to specific points he is making at the time. I do believe that some people pick this up easier than others and by his own admission his mother was a 'gifted psychic.' So, undoubtedly he had a head start on some of us. I find his advice helpful and specific. So many books deal in generalities and leave it up to the reader to infer a lot of the details. No so with Hewitt ... very specific steps that he suggests the reader to use to accomplish certain objectives. I'm sure this is one book I'll go back to over and over.

A very easy to follow guide to developing your psychic abilities
Like the majority of people, I wasn't born with exceptional psychic powers but many things have happened in my life that have led me to believe in synchronicity and to listen to my own intuition. This book gives people like me some insight into ways that we can develop our innate psychic powers, even though we may not consider that we were born 'gifted' in that respect. The author offers a set of simple, easy to follow exercises for us to try out with a view to enhancing our psychic abilities and living a fuller and happier life and maybe even being able to help others along the way. I've been doing the exercises now for about 3 weeks with some quite amazing results. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for a very simple technique
This book has many ideas for practicing your psychic abilities. All of them essentially revolve around the essential technique for using the power of your mind - imagine what you desire to have as if you already have it. If you are looking for varieties of techniques and for elaborate methods of visualization and training your sensory perception, you may find this book too simple. If you have been using the power of your mind successfully, or wanted ideas for more applications, than you can find ideas for experimenting in this book. Then again, if you have been using the power of your mind for quite some time, you may have already experimented with most of these techniques.

I bought this work on kindle really to figure out what was going on with/how to control my out of control psychic abilities. This book actually has good exercises for you to do. I like the fact that the book overall delves into meditation; just not any type of meditation; but a meditation that you can put an agenda to. Among various psychic exercises the writer also suggested using tea leaves as a good means of practice. I guess tea leaves, with their intricate and unique detail, can help in exercising the mind through searching them. However, I suggest getting a subscription to forex, futures or commodities data feed. Reading up on the indicators then seeing how best the chart and your predictions can "Line up"; by making the chart predict the prices next move in your eyes. Psychic development is an invitation to "Noise" as you are questioning about things other than yourself; so I highly recommend Jeffrey Thompson's "Brainwave music system", here on amazon: www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/1602970076/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_img_sol_0
