3.5After reading the blurb I loved the sound of this, but when I read it I really couldn't connect with the characters the way I'd hoped.Blake Sayer has had so much heartache, so much so it made her somewhat of a recluse. So when on her monthly trip to the shops Carson Cole makes it known that he's back after ten years.Ten years ago there was the heartbreaking loss that effected both Blake and Carson. They were each others first loves, but the heartbreak tore them apart. Now that Carson is back will he and Blake be able to get past the hurt and pain of their past and forge a future together.What I imagined would have been an angst filled second chance was more sweet, but it was a much enjoyable read.

Another superb book from Carrie Aarons. I absolutely loved this sweet, romantic, heart-wrenching story. This story is special, and it written absolutely beautifully.In this book we meet Blake Sayer. She grew up in the Outer Banks, and still lives here now, following a quiet and secluded life, shutting herself away, and living amongst the wild horses. Due to a huge tragedy in her past, and other subsequent difficulties she has encountered, he has shut herself off from the outside world.Carson Cole is one of the main characters from her past - someone she loved, but is also the cause of so many of her struggles and the tragedy she encountered. And now he is back, to take over the family business.Can Carson and Blake rekindle any of their past? Or is the heartbreak too much to bare? Have the walls surrounding Blake been build too high?I get lost somewhere between breaths, as if she's pumping my heart for me. It's completely up to her if I shatter or if I soar.I love a good second-chance romance, and this was no exception. Carrie's writing style in this book was absolutely superb. The words flowed off the pages with such passion and feeling, that I couldn't help but get swept away by this wonderful story.The story is written from dual PoV, from both Blake and Carson. I loved seeing both of their perspectives int his story. There were also some flashbacks to the past - they seemed to jumped around a bit at times, but overall they worked well and really helped to set the scene and get a sense of things that had happened.And I've got to mention - I loved that epilogue!!I would definitely recommend this book to all - a must read for all lovers of sweet, sexy, romantic, emotional second chance romances with just the perfect mix of angst and heat!4.5-5 STARS

I couldn't put this book down, nor did i want to. This coulple was so enchanting and their spirits so strong it made for compulsive reading. At time the emotions it brought to me made it quite difficult to read. The pain of living through losing everything that you love, can you ever really get back that part of you that has died? Get your glass of wine and your tissues and dive in!! You won't regret it !!!

I didn't read the synopsis, stayed away from teasers, the lot and boy what a bloody treat I got!!Right from the offset I was swept away by this beautiful and emotional second chance romance, set in the idyllic beach town of Carova,North Carolina.A story of friendship, young love and a bond so strong it seams unbreakable... until a tragic accident tears them apart.Now, 10 years later they find themselves living on the same shores again. Carrie's writing had me feeling every single bit of emotion throughout. From the grief, the anguish, the guilt to the overwhelming love I felt it all!!! And the added epilogue at the end, it was a nice added touch.Overall 'Ghost In His Eyes' was a beautifully written book and one I couldn't recommend enough. It's heartbreaking but filled with so much hope and love and healing that we are left with a bittersweet smile on our face and happy tear in our eyes.Just beautiful!!
