What table tops are recommended for this? I'm having issues finding any, but I'm thinking I'd like either bamboo or glass.

We went with a 24" x 80" hollow core door. We stained it to match the rest of our furniture and added a second shelf on the back to slide the monitor from side to side (see my pictures in my review). There are some electronics and cables used by the device that we screwed to the bottom of the door. They would be hard to mount to a glass top.

How stable is this when it's up all the way? I'm 6'6", so it will need to extend pretty high.

The table is stable. I added a 24"x48" top myself. The mechanism that powers the desk works fine. I am 6'-1" and don,t really notice any wobble. The only load is a 37" monitor, keyboard and mouse. If you want absolute stability order a mayline drafting table weighing in over 170lbs. I own this table and having it for more than 20 years can absolutely say nothing built today can out live it.

Is this stable enough to use with a desk treadmill? And if so, does anyone recommend a specific treadmill?

I'm not currently using with a treadmill, but i think the stability of your floor will have an impact on the desk movement. If you're on a concrete slab, should be no issue. If you're on a bouncy wood floor, you might not be happy with results.HTH,RS

Does anyone use this desk on carpet? I heard the stability/wobble can be an issue if you are not on hard floors.

Yes, I use it on carpet and it is perfectly stable, with not the least wobble. I have read some reviews that where people got wobble was when they installed casters, or did not fasten the tabletop securely. This table is solid. I used a table top from IKEA. I have three monitors, two keyboards, and a laptop on mine and could not be happier.
