Great kit for learning and customizing
This kit is really easy to put together. The instructionsโฆ. The pictures could be better. 2 instances I was like whatttt are the pictures saying and turns out it was just weird instructions and I fixed it. It comes with 2 motors. One for forward and back and one for side to side. All the parts were inside. Even a few extra screws. The connectors are kid friendly. You just push down and slide the wire in. So there is no actual need for trying to connect.I was able to alter this set up quite a bit. I honestly needed just the body and motors. So if you are looking to customize it you can do that with a little work.It is a fantastic price for everything you get. And it does work exactly as described.

Great kit - needs a few changes to be exceptional
Overall, great simple kit. It's truly a bare bones set up, but that's consistent with the price, and was great fun to assemble with my son. A few things are needed to make it better:1) the small orange bushings that are used to secure the small metal posts that allow the front wheels to steer aren't tight enough, as such, we have to re-tighten them after about 15 minutes of driving around2) the little glue stickers are neither easy to apply, or sticky enough. Why not just use the little screws everywhere, it would be much easier3) the remote control range is too short - you need a better transmitter.4) There should be a wooden handle part for the remote control. It's just hard to hold as is.

Good Customer Service
We bought this for my 10 year old son for Christmas. He loves tinkering and all things STEM. He came to me and said the motor wasnโt working so I reached out to the company at an email provided in the kit. They asked me to confirm it failed a certain test and after playing with it with him, I found the motor worked fine but not once he put it in the car. The company then sent me pictures of things to check. After seeing the pictures my son went back to the directions and found his mistake and was able to get it working. The turn around on answering emails was awesome and this gave my son a good experience with engineering. Not everything goes right the first time but perseverance pays off.In the end he has a fun gadget and had a learning experience. Win win!

Works but little bit flimsy for the cost
It is OK toy to experiment with but gets worn out and flimsy in no time. Mechanical steering regulator is not functioning smoothly and that is where the weakness of whole construction. So your front tires get stocked in one position and you are doomed. Cheap materials.

Do not over-tighten screws. The wood will strip.
Kids don't understand the importance of not over-tightening screws. Car will sag under it's own weight and won't steer if screws are over tightened. It came with one replacement part that I needed, but I had to use a twist tie to reinforce the metal axil holder onto the wooden frame since the screws were stripped out in the soft wood. Very cool toy. LOVED playing with it. The batteries didn't stay in the car's battery holder. I had to use the velcro strap with a spare wood bit wedged in in order to hold the battery in it's housing. Some inconsistent performance based possibly on weight distribution over the wheels, but it would drift on one side and turn hard to another side. Very light duty but fun on hard floors for sure. Not good on carpet. Will pick up hair in the axels. Had fun assembling with two 10 year olds. They gave up at step 11.

Great RC car build for kids or adults interested in getting into STEM
I purchased the previous version and had a good time putting the car together. It was fun to build and learn how it all works together. Once It was put together I was surprised to see how well it held together too. After a few "crashes" it still held together just fine. THIS upgraded version is just a significantly improved version of that, with even sturdier construction, and a cleaner build design. The instructions are easy to follow when building so I was able to put this together fairly easily but too quickly that it was over too soon or boring. Overall, fun to build, and fun to "drive" as well.

Disappointed, Parts Missing and a very frustrating project.
I bought 5 kits and I am not pleased. Although they have instructions with pictures the instructions were not very clear in some parts. The small parts are flimsy material and some of the screws were smooth and did not have the grooves on them for the holes and they would not stay in so the steering would not work properly. I have a class with 9, 10, 14 and 17 year olds and it is very time consuming. Even though we laid out the parts three out of the five kits had missing parts but another one of them had extra parts so it worked out. The one plus is the screwdriver was magnetized.
