Great value for the low budget household
If you are on a low budget and need a good bed this is a good solution. It is easy to assemble; but it does take a lot of work. I would suggest using a power screwdriver; like a drill which is what I used. You don't want to use a plain screw driver and screw everything by hand. If you are a working person it will take you a whole weekend to assemble it and you don't want to move it around much after it is already assembled because it will take some work to get it square again. The bedroom where I installed it is 10'x12' and it fit perfectly. I used a 4" full futon as mattress and it fit perfectly. It comes in 3 very heavy boxes and I assembled the contents of one box and then moved on to the next box. The instructions were very good and easy to understand. If you can afford the $135 installation fee go for it; because as I said it is a lot of work. I'm 72 years old and I managed to assemble it in 2 days. The quality of this product is good and the drawers are easy to slide in and out. Great for storing clothes or bedding; but nothing really heavy.I think that this is a good product and that the quality is very good. I expect it to last many years.

Solid construction, very pleased
This bed is significantly sturdier and of overall better quality and design than we were expecting from various reviews. We paid the extra $10 for in-the-front-door delivery in case of rain, and perhaps that also helped with delivery handling care, because everything came in perfect condition. The construction design was solid, and everything went together relatively easily (3 of the 16 side-slat nuts/screw holes were ever so slightly off center causing us a little trouble getting them to go in but with two sets of hands, we figured out how to hold them where we needed and all went in securely - no other problems with assembly). The drawers are spacious and slide in and out nicely. Overall, we’re very pleased and would recommend!

Not as bad as other reviews made it out to be
I'd been searching furniture stores, amazon and ikea looking for a platform storage bed at a reasonable price. Lo and behold i came across this one, of course, with no reviews. Feeling a bit apprehensive, i searched for it without putting in white and found reviews for it in other colors. The reviews weren't numerous or even great. There were a lot of complaints about it falling apart, hard to put together, etc. but i still ordered it. I'm glad i did.Putting the bed together is a bit time consuming if you don't own a hex drill bit, i'd advise purchasing a cheap one just for this job as it would probably cut down the time by 75%. I also suggest laying out all the pieces and hardware to make the job go quicker. The instructions were clear, the frame is sturdy once together. The only complaints i have is about the wooden slats that they give you to slide into the metal frame - they move way too much. In order to compensate for this, I made a trip to the local big box home store and purchases a sheet of 1/4 inch plywood and had them cut it down into three pieces and set that on top of the slats and using small nails to prevent any major moving. So far so good. The other issue is securing the drawer bottoms. It requires you to hammer a lot of little nails into a thin bottom. I did have quite a few nails never make it into the bottom, so i had to keep redoing it until it was correct.Other than these two issues, everything else about the bed is great. The extra storage is perfect for what i want it for (socks, tshirts, sheets). If you're looking for a place to store bulky items, such as blankets, towels and anything really heavy, don't get this bed. If anything changes in a couple of months, i'll update this....

CHEAP Particle Board - Fell apart within 4 MONTHS!
I would give this bed a zero rating if it were available. I purchased this bed for my 16 year old son because he needed a bed as well as extra storage space. I liked the look of the bed and from the picture it looked to be the perfect solution for him.I bought this bed at the beginning of February 2012. It arrived in great shape. Nothing was scratched or damaged. We had the bed about 2+ months before we actually put it together in April. It took us 2-3 hours to put it together. It was not overly difficult to assemble and it seemed sturdy at the time. We were missing one small part for one of the drawers and the company sent the part right away and did not charge us for it.The bed was made of particle board. The support boards (not particle board) reminded me of fence pickets in thickness and width. They were rough and wood slivers became embedded in the mattress until I placed a flat sheet between the boards and the mattress. All was well for a short time. Then I noticed while I was changing the bed linens that the "support boards" were not staying in place and therefore not supporting the mattress weight evenly. We removed the mattress and put them back into place numerous times. Pieces of the supports began to break off and create a huge mess under the bed and in the drawers. Finally after about 4 months the fasteners that held the center support of the frame ripped out of the particle board which of course could not be repaired. Next, the fasteners that held the metal brace for the "support boards" ripped from the headboard 1 by 1 until only one remained. If my son sat too far up towards the head of the bed to watch TV or play video games, the whole mattress would cave in at the top. A funny sight to see but the cheap quality of the bed was no laughing matter. Finally, after at least 2 months of living with the bed in that condition, it became to much of a safety hazzard and we had to throw it away in November. My son is now without a bed again until we can afford to buy him a different one.I cannot believe this bed, with normal use by a teen of normal weight, only lasted 4 months; 6-7 months if you include the time we used the bed after it was broken. Very disappointed.... I wish I had thought to take pictures of the bed in its broken condition before we threw it away.PS: The drawers were still in perfect shape so I kept them. My bed sits high enough that I was able to use them for under-the-bed storage. They slide completely under the bed on both sides and are totally out of sight. At least something useful came out of this experience!

Good quality, Good Price,
I was unprepared for how heavy the delivered boxes (x2) would be. I had to open the boxes at the door and carry the pieces into the bedroom in manageable stages. Also, I was leery of quality concerns based upon read reviews of other beds - but I need not have been. I recommend you buy a large squeeze bottle of carpenters' wood glue. And, have an extra pair of hands helping you. This is a two person job. The frame is a medium density particle board so gluing every joint gives superior results. The instructions are excellent. All of the pieces fit perfectly, the drawer hardware (slides and bearings) are superior quality. Useful too, there are YouTube videos online showing you proven ways to build the drawers. All in all, I was exceptionally pleased with the end result. But be prepared for a two-evening project (glue drying time included). The drawer bases are plywood. The mattress slats pine boards.

Was a bit disappointed with it being nothing but particle board but assembly ...
It seems to be working well. Was a bit disappointed with it being nothing but particle board but assembly was not too bad at all. It has been sturdy enough for my wife and I and I am not a small guy. Has saved me a bunch of space in the bedroom. Love having the storage under the bed.

It’s a beautiful piece
I ordered this bed online and it came in within 4 days and I couldn’t be more happier with my purchase. It did take a while to assemble because it has many drawers. But at the end it was worth it

**2 YEAR UPDATE**
Maybe it was just that my expectations were low...but I was very impressed with this bedroom set. My teenage daughter was hooked on getting this and we relented. The quality was very good....and the build was solid and easy to put together. Fasteners all for without issue....and there were no 'translation' issues with the instructions. Also, I was very impressed with the packing for shipping. Bravo Prepac!!**2 YEAR UPDATE**What a difference 2 years makes. :-( I am not sure that the bed is going to last much longer. To be clear, my Daughter is extremely good with her things. There is ZERO abuse here. Normal use.- The drawers started giving her issues after about a year. They will not close completely now, which is a real pain and looks terrible!- Now the wooden 'slats' that hold the mattress up are popping out of the track, causing the mattress to drop onto the drawers underneath. Wow!!It is just unimaginable that a bed would start falling apart and become close to unusable after just over 2 years. VERY disappointing. :-(I will attempt to contact Prepac under warranty. (5 year limited warranty). I will update with information on how that goes.
