Works well for low current, high voltage applications.
Not much to say. Works as advertised, really inexpensive as compared to the old fashioned alternative of a step up transformer and rectifier and capacitor/resistor filter network. Works great for the low power application of powering a magic eye tube volume unit display.

Don’t short it! But nice and compact.
Good unit. Using for NIXIE project. Tested. Bought two. Both work fine. Remember, the voltage at the output is high. Even though the current is low you can still get a bite! Use caution especially if you have a pacemaker! Things get really exciting then! LOL

Great for small projects with only a couple of Nixie tubes.
Works great to drive 1 or 2 large Nixie tubes. When driving 6 Nixie tubs the voltage folds back and the tubes don’t light properly. Also gets hot.

Pure junk.
I don't know if the circuit on the other flavors of this board is better, but the "black" board version is garbage. I'm 0-2 on these things. I've built linear power supplies in the past. There is nothing special about them. But they're big, heavy, and inefficient, so I tried to take a short cut. It turned out to be a waste of time. The first one, 12V input, 11V output. Adjustment did nothing. Exchanged for a 2nd. Exact same thing - 12V in, 11V out, no adjustment. And oh, to the person who designed this board, would it have killed you to add a 2nd mounting hole?

will not run on 8 v
this will not run on 8 volts , runs fine on 12 , listing is misleading . forget even 8.2 ! It would be much more valuable to all obviously if it really ran even to 4.5-5 v —- data in listing is wrong . PIA

Needed HV for Nixie tubes
Item as described. Well package. The default adjusted output voltage is around 170V DC. I had adjusted to output at around 180V DC as shown in the picture. Will use it for IN-12 Nixie tubes

The item does not work. You put in 12v it outputs 12v. Don't waste your time.
