Would this dog be proper as a way to model hand made coats and sweaters for dachshunds? If not, does anyone know of one that would be? Thank you.

I think it would, but this plush is quite a bit smaller than a regular size doxie. This is more of a mini size. I had what they call a tweenie dox and this plush would be too small for a tweenie also. I think you could model after, but increase the size of the garment.

It's about as big as our real mini dachshund. Our granddaughter loves him but they can't have pets so we got it for her for her birthday and she loves it.

I want to buy dog outfits for it. How long is it's back, not including the head?

I really don't know, because it was a gift for Christmas to my grand daughter who has a black one just like this toy one. My daughter said it's very cute and looks like their dog. I will try and get the measurement you need. If you have the dog take it to the pet store and that way you will know the exact size you need. You gave me a idea to get little toy dog some clothes too. Thanks!
