Not crystal clear. Not intended for household water pressure
Great tape for intended purpose. No tape can hold back house water pressure, that is not what it's intended for. It can seal gravity drain pipes above ground pools and boats etc but not 60 lb of water supply pipe. A supply PIPE OR hoses must be cut and repaired with a repair kit.Note that this is not crystal clear it is foggy colored.

Bad reviews don't understand how to use this tape
The tape is only sticky on one side. It has a film covering it, so in essence both sides are film-coated. So as long as you don't peel the film off the unused tape on the roll, you'll be just fine. This tape holds really well. I'm hoping it works as promised to keep air out.Update: it does!

Adhered very well but after summer it began to leak. I substituted with duct tape that worked ok
Very sticky

Used this to repair a travel trailer awning. It worked great.
Last July, our travel trailer awning developed a small tear (roughly 8-10" long) where it connects to the leading edge of the motorized roller. I used this tape on the top and bottom of the awning. It held up well from July to October, and you would not know it is there unless you knew to look closely. This coming season April-October we will find out how the repair holds up for the long term.

MAJOR disappointment! Wish I could give this tape zero stars.
I simply needed to patch a small crack in a CPVC pipe temporarily, until I could get a replacement pipe (etc) purchased and installed. It's part of my lawn sprinkler system.Unfortunately, I came to realize packing tape would have worked worked just as well as this did!If you watch my video, you will see how easy it was for me to lift the Gorilla tape off the pipe, even though I waited 48 hours before doing so.The pictures were taken after I had scooped out the wasted water that had FILLED the hole overnight.I have used this brand's masking tape in the past and liked the quality, but this version is USELESS on wet CPVC pipe (which I DID wipe clean before applying the tape.)Note that this was my THIRD attempt at getting this to leak sealed with this product. First i tried a large piece... then I tried a smaller horizontal piece... then a vertical piece. None of these three attempts/sizes/methods worked.Note that I DID follow the instructions as far as not overlapping the tape.I also kept pressure on it after I initially applied it... But as you can see, it was a waste of my time and money. This was a major disappointment, yet I can't get my money back because the package has been opened and used. Please do yourself a favor if you need to make a leak repair to a CPVC/PVC pipe.... Buy a different brand.I wish I had gone with the competitor (which starts with an 'F').

Not great on water leaks, okay for air
There used to be a different tape made by this company that was fairly thin but worked much better that I cannot find anymore so I got this instead. This product was overall pretty mediocre as far as doing what it says it does. I tried it on a water pipe that had cracked during the winter and it did slow the leak but did not stop it. It was still enough of a leak that the pipe just had to be replaced. When I tried on an airbed type inflatable it worked okay, as in I had to refill the air only daily but it was still useable despite the leak. There was flocking on the airbed I had to get rid of first for it to work. A couple pointers if this is your intended use:1. Make sure the piece you are using overlaps the leak by at least an inch in every direction. Kind of common sense but I had only about a half inch the first try and it was not working once any weight was applied to mattress.2. Make sure item is completely empty of all air and repair area lays good and flat. Use something bigger than the repair area that is smooth and flat both under and as a weight on top of repair. After you place the tape put a heavy weight on top to help apply pressure and seat the tape. Doesn’t work well with just hand pressure, I had to leave the weight on for a few hours before it was stuck down well enough. The adhesive isn’t great but works okay after the time left sitting weighted down. Still peels off easier than I’d like no matter how long it is on there.I might try to seal edges of the tape with some kind of glue to improve performance but really shouldn’t have to if manufacturer description is correct. Overall I’m disappointed in this product, it just doesn’t seem to be what they claim in my opinion. Of course real world application and use in a lab setting where originally tested will not be the same as with anything. Fine for use in a pinch.I’m keeping in emergency toolbox as it does have some useful qualities.

Last forever on outdoor projects
We feed the outdoor birds year round. The squirrels come around and help themselves to the seed. If the feeders become empty, the squirrels start destroying the plastic seed containers. Before finding the Gorilla tape, we used duct tape. That worked for a little while, but soon needed to be replaced. I found this on Amazon and thought I would give it a try. It has been over 6 months, and the durable tape is still working. I am thinking it would work to seal gaps in door and window seals, so that will be my next project. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent.
Exceeded my expectations. Used it on my car light until I could get it fixed. Worked great.
