How many filters should i use in a crown berkey (6 gallon) family of 5 plus a big dog, so we refill about 3 gallons each night. thanks!

Using one of our filters will have the contaminate removal with fluoride removal with just our one filter (so no need for another), and one filter will have a lifespan of up to 6 months with continual use. The more filters you use at a time will add their lifespan together and increase the flowrate as well. So using two filters at a time will give you a lifespan of up to 12 months with an increased flowrate, three will be 18 months with the best flow, and so on with however many you can use at a time. Whether you use 1 or more filters at a time you will get the same quality of water and contaminate removal. So its up to you however many you would like to use, but for that large of a family and water capacity, I would reccommend starting with at least 4.

Is this the same filter the Propur uses?

It sure is, our company is the exact same as when we were ProPur, we just aligned our company name with our known ProOne techonology name.

I don't know whether to get the 7-inch or 9-inch filter? The 7-inch seems to be more popular but what are the differences exactly?

Both of those filters will have the same contaminate removal and around the same general 6 month lifespan with continual daily use, just the 9" filter will have a faster flowrate by about 15-30 minutes than the 7" filter within that time.
