An absolute delight! The best of the bunch so far in an already excellent series!

The Sparks books are a huge hit at our house! My boys, 9 and 12, have been reading them for the past few years and they were so excited about this new addition to the series! They’ve both read it through a few times, already.

If you are like the readers at our house and love animals, time travel or animals who time travel, the third book in the Sparks series may be “purrfect” for you! This time, August and Charlie are pulled through portals into prehistoric times, ancient times, and more. When August is tempted to use the portals to change her own past, the duo set off events that lead to a dystopian future ruled by...(well, read the book!) This story also flashes back to August’s kittenhood and we meet the human girl who inspired the cat’s interest in technology and inventing. Along with the fun, there are heartfelt and age-appropriate messages about dealing with past trauma and bad memories, working through mistakes and setbacks, and realizing how all your positive and negative experiences make you who you are, giving you the power to shape your future. There is humour and action on every page and the amazing art practically leaps out of the panels. And the robotic sentient Litter Box and Steve-O the Squirrel are back too. Here’s hoping they get a spin-off novel of their own!

My kids love the Sparks! series. Highly recommend them.
