I had big hopes for this gadget.The center slot for slicing vegetable lengthwise works just fine and the peeler attachment is very good.However, the regular slicing is awkward, the "handle" where one grasps the thing is awkward to hold for someone like me - the "pinching" effort is what I have problems with because of arthritis and weakness in my thumb. AND I could not keep it from sliding off vegetables and fruit - it needs prongs on the bottom, like the meat attachment. Soft tomatoes get slightly mashed. I tried it on a small celeriac (celery root) and it kept slipping off, same with an apple. The experience with an eggplant was even worse. I tried to cut the stem end off and it slipped backwards and off the counter onto the floor.The slots to remove food from the blade are useless - as far as I am concerned - I use a chef's knife that is thick at the edge opposite the cutting edge and won't fit.The other thing is that with all of the gadget transparent - except the meat holder, also useless - it is difficult to see the various components. There should be a contrast at the edges of the various pieces where they fit together.It's a good idea but needs some tweaking. Perhaps later versions will address some of these.
