It does it’s job. Gets hot really fast even when I turn the bass knob down to half it’s power it’s still running pretty hot. But all in all. It’s good.

Not the Orion of old
Back in the day, Orion was top tier stuff. I remember upgrading my sub amp at one time to a 250SX, and the difference was unbelievable. I bought this amp to do the same... upgrade from a Hifonics amp I had in place. When I first put it in, I was a bit disappointed in that it didn't seem to be better as I had expected. Then, a couple of weeks later, it started cutting out, and a few days later, it quit. I troubleshot everything, thinking it couldn't be my new Orion amp... I must have had a bad connection somewhere. Lots of trouble shooting later, I put the Hifonics amp back in and Voila... it was the less than 1 month installed Orion amp that quit. I'll stay with the Hifonics... it's a great amp. This one... not so much. Funnily enough, I just noticed one of the Orion speaker I put in the door has started making crackling noises the last couple of days, so I guess it's across the board with Orion now... too bad, but this is crap equipment now.

Incredible Power for such a small Unit
I have this amp and also the XTR 2500 model. Do not believe the negative reviews. If you use the correct gauge wire for your power supply, proper ground, battery that will maintain voltage and an understanding of what the controls on the amp are you will not be disappointed! Most negative reviews are done by individuals who are not educated in proper installation of amplifiers and tend to blame the units for failure. These units are rated at 12.6 volt not 14.4 volt.. The RMS numbers are actually lower than what the amp actually produces. If you're on a budget and looking for an amp to add to your setup then you need to look no further. I am in no way affiliated with Orion,I have not been asked to provide a positive comments or anything along those lines. I just happened to see the two previous reviews and felt compelled to share the truth about this amplifier.
