I intend to use this robot as a teaching tool and it is everything I was hoping for. The design lends itself well for a step by step approach because each module is constructed in a way that you assemble one system and test it before moving on to the next one.

liked building, good on line instructions and a downloadable pdf file.cons: first build code for running car has major errors, ie will not run forward or backward,have to edit the code to work properly.perhaps someone should check the code or make sure the motor leads are the right way round,the leads are keyed so can only go one way.

I guess that if everything worked past the first test (forward, backward, right and left), you might not learn much. However, since the IR did not work out of the box, it will take some troubleshooting to discern if the problem is sending from the remote, the receiver, or wiring.Just Breadboard the receiver unit and run the IR code found in the examples inside the Arduino programming environment. It's a good teacher and test unit of your code. It teaches you the basics you need to know to move up to CNC machines and other robotics.

Ich habe den Bausatz für mich gekauft, bin schon Rentner. Ich habe Vorkenntnisse im Programmieren, war 20 Jahre lang Programmierer. Meine Windows Software hat automatisch bei der Installation des Robotfahrzeugs auf Deutsch übersetzt, ich konnte es also problemlos zusammen bauen.Was ich ein wenig doof fand, daß keinerlei Beschreibung zu den angeschlossenen Shields dabei war. Muss man sich wahrscheinlich selbst drum kümmern. Bei den Codes gibt es manchmal Fehler, sind aber nicht schlimm. Durch Fehler lernt man am schnellsten.Alles in allem absolut zu empfehlen. Der Plexiglas Geräteträger lässt sich mit etwas Geschick auch verändern, so dass noch mehr Sensoren oder ev. ein Greifarm installierbar wird. Es ist dann halt DIY. Aber dafür habe ich es ja gekauft.
