Save money keep your old razor alive
So after using this replacement blade for about a couple months now, I have noticed sometimes it makes a loud squishing sound but after popping the blade off and blown out any remain in hair it will work fine. Still satisfied with the money I spent to keep my old razor alive.

the pros: good shave, compatible, more durable, same flexibility. Cons: price higher, cur design could be blade replace only.
The design worked on my older shaver no problem. it isnt hinged on the lower assembly but on the top with a simple and much more durable pivot. the range of rotation of the blades is the same as older models. cleaning is much easier, all i do is blow air across the bottom and the top and put it back together. the shave is as good or better than the older shaver model with the benefit of being more durable.you have direct access to the blades now and can really get in there and clean them if you want. i use my shaver not only to do my face but my whole head as well and for this it needs to be very reliable and strong. i have no problem doing that with this product. i originally bought a cheaper product but it didn't last long and i actually had the bottom black cover part come off. i tried to fix it but the cheaper shaver was never the same afterword. with the new design of this product this would never be able to happen.the pros: good shave, compatible with older handles, more durable design, same flexibility as older model. where the silver part meets the black part is where the hinge is. easy cleaning with direct access to blades for super cleaning.cons: with the assembly so well designed and easy direct access to the blades i feel you should be able to buy just the blades and replace them instead of the whole assembly. this would significantly reduce the replacement costs. im sure its still a good value as is as it will last longer and work better than before however it could be even less expensive if it was a blade replacement only. that leaves open an opportunity for a third party to sell the blades by themselves so if i were Panasonic i'd take note of this and just provide them instead. im sure thats the kind of decision that involves their profit margins and whether they are worth selling in the first place.

Utter Garbage! Seriously, DO NOT Buy These!
I really wish I had trusted the bad reviews for these 'new improved' replacement blades.I had a business trip to Switzerland and these arrived the day before I flew out. I've had the SensoTouch 3D for years and believe it or not, the original blades with much wear and tear are still better than any of the replacement blades I have bought. Each new iteration of replacement blades has decreased in craftsmanship and durability. This latest Shaver Head scratched my face up like I fell asleep under an angry cat. I had cuts, razor burns, and countless ingrown hairs the following days. I have relatively thin hair and rarely have an ingrown hair, so this was a terrible way to show up in a foreign country, attempting to make a positive first impression.I've kept all of my replacement heads and when I returned home, I took them apart and compared them. This replacement head fits loosely in the housing compared to previous versions. The blades are just as likely to cut your hair as they are to wear down from rubbing against the housing designed to contain them. The design is shoddy, to put it kindly. They noise they make compared to previous heads is something that would make a car mechanic leap for the key to turn off the ignition switch because they thought the transmission was being shredded. It just sounds cheap and 'tinny' compared to previous replacement heads. This will be my last purchase to support the SensoTouch 3D. After years of hanging on to what was arguably my favorite shaver, I have purchased 2 others from different companies to see which one will be a better replacement. For now, I am most happy with a Braun.Philips, you REALLY did your company a disservice by putting your name on such a horrible item as these replacement blades. Farewell.

NOT the original but it works for a rotary fan
I am a Philips rotary fan for over 40 years. I have tried several of the high end razors from competitors and the rotary system, for me, continues to be the best combination of close and comfortable shave. That said, this head replacement for the 1200 series appears to be lacking in a couple of areas; smoothness and head cleaning. The blades simply do not reach the areas reached by the older system. It takes a number of efforts to achieve the same results. After a morning shave, there remain several "rough spots" both in the main facial area as well as those on the cheeks and close to the nostrils. The saving grace is the Norelco Clean Jet System for cleaning. It Works for cleaning the heads. This system requires that you remove the cutting heads for a absolute clean. This includes a manual re-set using a retainer ring. I found this difficult to achieve to the point of being frustrating to seat the ring. Using the original cleaner and the Norelco Clean Jet System appears to eliminate this step. As close as possible with lubricating and cleaning of the blades. This combination seems to work for me.
