The perfect way to make a Victron Non-Smart Charger into a Smart Charger - Plug and Play!
This smart dongle is the perfect addition to any Non-Smart Victron Charger. It basically converts it to a smart charger and allows you- via the Victron Ap to monitor Solar Activity and Lithium Charging. The install was a snap and it is basically a plug and play device. The compact size can almost be mounted anywhere in your RV. Big bang for the Buck! I have thoroughly enjoyed the connectivity of this device. I would highly recommend to others and would purchase again if I ever needed to.

Should have read the description of the charge controller better. However, adding this worked like a charm. Easy set up. Pretty fast response when looking up in the app.

It's Victron. This "stuff" just works and this is no exception. As of right now, I was just curious and wanted to see what was going on with the Victron 48v 1200w inverter. (loads primarily) I do kind of wish it had been built in to the inverter, but that's another matter. You literally plug it in and connect to it with the Victron app...

Easy connection, worthwhile addition
I bought this to go with the 12/375 inverter because I wanted to be able to play with the eco mode (which requires a dongle - either USB or Bluetooth - to configure). While for my current purposes the eco mode isn't going to be usable, I'm still happy I got the dongle because I can easily verify that the system is working as expected (ie, I'm not draining the battery too far, and the load is still there in a reasonable range) just by checking my phone. I could say that $50 for a BT dongle is pricey.. and yeah it is. I was thinking that they could've just as easily put a USB outlet on the inverter, right? TBH though the inverter isn't "smart" so you can't just throw a USB port on it; this dongle is more than just a BT interface - it's BT *plus* the smarts to measure the load and voltages as well as provide the app an interface over that BT. Regardless, the inverter didn't cost an arm and a leg and being able to get the info so easily semi-remotely (I can use the app from more than 50' away) makes this quite worthwhile.

This works well. My controller stopped communicating with my iPhone. The manufacturer suggested this part. Great value for the money. Easy to install. Instructions were good.

Easy, at a glance, to see charging state and battery condition
No issues connecting to my Victron unit andsetting up the software on my phone and getting connected. It now means that I don't have to go into the back of the van and look in the cupboard to see if the battery is being charged and at what phase. A bonus is that it also tells me the condition of the leisure battery. Has a transmit distance of around 20 to 30 feet (sorry, I old school). Screen shots are from my phone taken when connected to van 20 feet away. I wouldn't say it's an essential item, but for me, I feel it's an essential item and I don't know how I lived without one
