Big Horn 19592 90 Degree Corner Chisel Replaces Templaco CC-1 and Porter Cable 42234

I would have preferred a name brand but none of the vendors would send down under so I got this one. It seems to function fine despite that. It is intended for squaring up of rebates for hinges but I've found that it works just as well for squaring up of recessed cuts where its difficult to get power tools into. The only thing to watch is depth. Because its spring loaded, it has a maximum cut depth of about 9-10mm (3/4").

It is simple and it works.

Makes a nice clean cut if you can get it square to the cut, but therein lies the problem. The surfaces used to square the chisel into the corner are just 1/4" on each side making it practically impossible to do consistently. I gave it two stars because I was able to get a good cut by using a woodworkers square on the backside opposite the chisel then holding the chisel body perfectly still while switching hands to grabb a hammer. Works better than nothing but could be better.

This corner chisel works well. It needed a little bit of clean-up on the cutting edge. But all tools and blades do to get a good edge. It is heavy enough to last I suspect. A good price.

Can't go wrong with this Mighty Corner chisel/. 1 Good solid whack of your hammer and you have a perfect corner,Period. I suggest this product for both it's quality and it's Price.
