Also my newer year old front load washer allows me to select quick wash with extra rinse I do that. I can choose power wash for 43 minutes or power wash off and it's 27 minute cycle but both allow me to select extra rinse. If you use fabric softener laundry sheets in your dryer this might cause some problems leaving residue that can transfer onto these microfiber towels. So run a couple of damp hand towels or bath towels terry is best through the dryer on a heat setting. Now you can set for air dry only and dry the microfiber towels without adding any laundry softener or dryer sheets to the dryer. This should work out really well at keeping lint down. Also I recommend washing 2 times before it's first use but that can depend on how linty and quality the towels are. I recommend the light grey as the least linting. But with other brands who knows. Just avoid fabric softeners and softened water also might be problematic or not. I favor straight up tide with zero additives for regular detergent. I have never used the recommended detergent they sell or reference. I treat my cotton window drying rags the same way. You can air dry too but with our hard water here air drying often means very stiff towels and rags. So yes you can rub and work them softer but I usually opt to dry in a dyer that's been treated to remove fabric softener residues no matter the type of fabric softeners used.
