The Living Clearly Method: 5 Principles for a Fit Body, Healthy Mind & Joyful Life

Disappointing
I'm sure the author is a nice enough person, but it seems a stretch to consider her an expert in anything related to "wellness" or health. Her version of yoga is quite unique, and doing poses in super high heels is just...odd.

Not enough recipes for cucumber
Maybe it's a cultural thing. After all, I wasn't born in Boston to an upper class family that can trace its heritage several generations all the way back to the Revolution. Nor did my family vacation on Mallorca every year, which would have allowed me to appropriate the right cultural elements in order for me to understand this book. I couldn't even make out the accent in the text. I don't speak Spanish.

You’re kidding, right?!
As soon as I flipped open the book and saw the author in 6” heels.....doing yoga....ridiculous! Get real!

There is much irony in the title "Living Clearly"
The title says it all.

Unbelievable (literally), and not in a good way . . .
In the opening photo, Ms. Baldwin is demonstrating plough pose on a couch with her head turned to the camera. Anyone who's had decent yoga instruction knows that one needs a hard, level foundation on which to do this safely and correctly, and that turning the head in this pose is NEVER recommended, as doing so can cause neck injury. Once I saw these glaring mis-steps, I did a search to find out where she'd done her training and found nothing specific - only vague references to an un-named 200 hour course. In spite of taking on the role of yoga teacher, Ms. B. fails to show that she's has completed a teacher training from a yoga studio or teacher, respected or otherwise. This leaves one to wonder about the validity of her purported yoga-education. Her lack of basic knowledge regarding how to do yoga correctly is further evidenced by the haphazard way she demonstrates poses throughout the book. Regarding her doing yoga in high heels, I can only ask, "why?".Given all this, Hilaria puts herself in the position of being a poseur (no pun) and calls in to question her authority not only as a yoga practitioner (much less instructor), but in any of the subjects she writes about. Her lack of expertise is obvious to anyone with more than the most basic understanding of the subject matter. While her advise about clear and clean living is fine, the same information is easily sourced via a simple Google search. If one can ignore her misguided yoga, her recommendations may be helpful for those with very limited knowledge of what constitutes a healthy lifestyle. In summary, this book has basic information about "living clearly", and the yoga images in it are a mess and not to be emulated. On the other hand, it does stand out strongly as a vehicle of self-promotion, which, unlike the content of her book, may indeed be Ms. Baldwin's area of expertise.

Nothing new, skip it
There's nothing new in this. If you're completely new to living a healthy lifestyle you might enjoy it. If not, skip it. You won't learn anything new.

Sensible and Real
I saw Ms. Baldwin on Dr. Oz. Watching and listening to her on the show I have to say, I was surprised. I'm not impressed by celebrity usually and most times don't feel their advice is practical for day to day people. Reading this book is almost like listening to Hilaria speak, her writing is very precise and for lack of a better word...clear! I haven't finished the book but I have read enough to say I find it relaxing to read and it has given me a more optimistic outlook on laying out a plan and following it to better health and fitness. Like most I struggle with the extra 10 pounds and after reading it through I plan to work my way back through the book and put Living Clearly into action. I feel certain it can be done and results will be good with the guidance of this book.

Inspired to make changes
I follow Hilaria on instagram and enjoy seeing snapshots of her family and healthy living philosophy, so decided to read her book. This book gives a clear and inspiring method to take little steps towards feeling healthier everyday. It makes it seem manageable and fun. I'm not sure about the recipes, but that's just a small part of the book.

Happy!
I didn't want to spend full price on this book, I'm glad it is in good condition and I received it quickly. I had started reading it from the library online and it seemed like a good one to have in print on hand. Thank you!
