Q: Just received mine and I cannot unscrew the top cylinder from the bottom cylinder. Any suggestions?

I don’t think I understand the question. Nothing screws/unscrews on mine except the crank handle the rest just pull open.

I just received my coffee grinder. You need to pull the lid up pretty hard to get it off. I’m guessing it gets easier the more you use it.

Q: Will grind herbs and spices?

i don't see why not. but hopefully you like loud squealing from metal on metal as it grinds. sounds like a squirrel being murdered.
