Okay, when I tried to do a separate review for the two hats I bought, my review for this brown hat kept showing up for the herringbone charcoal grey hat I bought. For some reason, I cannot get the two hat reviews separated. So I will do my best.For the brown hat: The hat has the inside plaid cloth on the liner. But what I got was darker brown and the pattern cannot be easily seen at all. I ordered a medium in this brown and also a medium in the grey. The two hats are way off in size. The medium grey holds up on the size as a true medium but the brown one is way too small. The brown one says it is a medium on the tag but when compared and measured (yeah, I measured it), it was way off and too small (by about an inch and a half smaller!) unlike the grey which matched the size description. This brown one says 50% wool on the label but it looks and feels much cheaper than the grey one I also purchased which is 100% wool. On the brown one, the underside of the beak rim has a very thick plastic that you can feel on your forehead since the liner on the interior rim is thin and cheap. You can see the plastic when you look under the rim which to me is a bit tacky. How can these sellers get away with selling such irregular stuff and calling it "Premium"? I really wanted this item to work out because it was supposed to be a Christmas gift for my husband. Now I will have to look for another brown one. I give the brown hat ONE STAR.The Herringbone Charcoal Grey hat: The grey one I purchased was a "charcoal grey, ASIN: B016ECMAG4) and that one is a really nice decent quality one. It is 100% wool, has the plaid pattern on the interior and fits as expected for a medium hat. The interior rim is sewn well and is comfortable all the way around. There is a plastic interior liner in the beak of the hat but it is small and does not come close to the forehead. The one I purchased was very good. I saw the photos submitted by another reviewer and realized that the company that makes them does not always check to see the consistency of their products. So I have one really good hat to keep for a gift and the other is a go-back. I give the Herringbone Charcoal Grey hat (at least the one I received) FIVE STARS.Thankfully, Amazon has a great return policy and the brown one is going back!UPDATE: January 7, 2016: I tried to order this again - yes again. And this time (the third time) finally worked. The medium fit fine, just a tad loose but not like the other one before which was waaay too small or waaaay toooo big. This one fit just right and my husband is happy with it.Final analysis? Well, trying to balance out the first brown hat item (1 star) with the other nice charcoal hat (5 stars), I picked an average for the overall experiences with this whole hat issues with Epoch hats. I love this hat. It's my 2nd one after I lost the first one after 3 years of regular wear it hadn't aged a day.The wool is warm, I wear it in bad weather while gardening or hiking.The XL size fit my enormous 7 3/4 size head.For this price, hard to imagine finding a better snap cap.

Good quality for the money. I’ve seen others imported from Ireland for 3x the price and look almost the same.

The price is great, and the quality is, also. It's wool, fully lined, and the craftsmanship is excellent. I checked some of the better men's stores, but couldn't make myself pull the trigger on hats that were three or four times the price of this one. I figured for the price, if it was cheap, I wouldn't be out much. I was very pleased to find that it was equivalent to the other hats that cost significantly more.Hey, it's a newsboy hat. Either you like the style or you don't so if you're checking reviews, all you really want to know is "is it of good quality and craftsmanship?" Yes it is.

Great buy for the buck.In buying any apparel on line one never knows what it will look like on. I might have bought a different color. II used to buy hats sized 7 3/8. When the offering is in small, medium, large & extra large the fit is pretty good.

Nice quality hat. I ordered the navy blue version. As for sizing, I initially ordered a navy blue Large hat. When it arrived, it was too small, so I returned it and got a navy blue XL. The XL fits fine. (For sizing reference, I comfortably wear a 7 1/2 or 7 5/8 in New Era 59Fifty hats, and a L/XL Flexfit hat fits me snugly.)
