Very short life span
I purchased this Thermostat in June this year, It's now just under five months old and failed again. The one before this lasted about the same length of time. The original Delco lasted seven years, the vehicle only has 45k miles and is in excellent condition, well maintained. Both times I purchased an after market Dorman because they are supposed to be superior to the factory Delco brand. I'll buy a cheap after market this time, half the price of the Dorman and it couldn't be any worst. I'm totally disappointed, needing to replace thermo every six months.

Better off going with AC Delco
SUMMARY: There's a reason that this Dorman Thermostat Housing only has ~52% of reviews at 5 stars. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this one all together.I bought one of these Dorman Thermostat Housings back in March 2019 when the stock one cracked and started leaking. I heard the plastic on the Dorman unit was made better than stock and it didn't crack in the amount of time I had it installed so I guess that's a plus. However, everything else about this thermostat housing is junk. After only a couple months the sensor on the housing went bad and started throwing a check engine light. Then just recently, about 14 months after installing this unit, the thermostat went bad and my engine started overheating. I replaced this with an AC Delco thermostat housing and time will tell if it's better but the reviews here on Amazon are way better on the Delco unit. You might be thinking to yourself, "oh, well 14 months is a good amount of time for this to last. If I only have to replace it once a year that's no big deal." but if you've ever actually replaced one of these on a Chevy Sonic then you probably know that this is one of the biggest PITA parts to replace due to it's location in comparison to the turbo inlet and all of the hard AC lines that you can't just move out of the way.EDIT: 18 Months after this review my AC Delco unit has had ZERO issues. Go with the Delco and forget this Dorman unit.
