It's a 5qt, not a 6qt
I ordered this specifically because it claimed to be a 6qt - I wanted a slightly larger pot than the ones I had. Received it, and it only holds 5qts of liquid. That being said, it's very well made, heats quickly and evenly and I decided to keep it anyway. First test was a pot of chili. Used this pot from start to finish - browned meat, added all ingredients, brought to a simmer - then cooked slowly in the oven covered for two hours. Then back to stovetop to thicken up some more. Kept leftovers in pot in the fridge overnight and reheated the next day. Came time to clean up, and after all of that, absolutely nothing stuck - I could have cleaned it with a paper towel if I wanted to. Fantastic. One note, I washed in dishwasher, and it developed some discoloration (rainbow spots) on the bottom. So I'll hand wash from now on.

Sorry, Not a 5 PLY utensil. Not anywhere close!!!!!
Too light to be five-ply cookware. My Calphalon 3ply is even heavier and stronger than this. You could do better. I will agree if it's a 2.5 or 3 ply but definitely not a 5 ply.

Quality 5-ply fully cladded stainless steel, good size, versatile, heavy & durable + great price...
I have been looking for a new stainless steel stockpot/dutch oven for a while. I have one in this size that is perfectly serviceable but it is many decades old and it looks it. I no longer bring it to the table; in fact it is actually my designated popcorn popping pot, now. I wanted something nice for cooking as well as serving and I have been researching several brands as many of my trusted old favorites are no longer being made or are no longer associated with the high quality they once were. I was very interested when I ran across this6-quart dutch oven, especially as it features 5-ply fully cladded construction. I have lots of 3-ply stainless steel, that I have been really happy with, but up until now, the only 5-ply stainless steel pots and pans I have is my prized collection of AllClad. I don't have a complete set of AllClad (yet), and the ones I do have were purchased one piece at a time over the years because they are so expensive. I really didn't have high expectations for this dutch oven considering the very affordable price, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very well made, heavy duty pan. The base and sides feel heavy and thick. The handles are solidly riveted on and feel very durable. They are definitely strong enough to support the weight of the stockpot when filled with food. The lid is also heavy (many of my stainless steel pots and pans have relative light-weight lids). Both the lid and the pot have a beautiful brushed appearance inside and out. I think the stockpot is gorgeous -- it has an almost industrial design. The cladding means that the three layers of aluminum are sandwiched between the two layer of stainless steel and extend all the way up the sides, and are not just a disc embedded in the base of the pot. The stockpot heats up quickly and evenly thanks to the aluminum, but food only contacts the stainless steel. The rim of the stockpot is slightly rolled to make pouring easy, but it is not the narrow, tightly rolled type that can't be easily cleaned. The stockpot is very easy to clean. The lid fits perfectly and doesn't rock back and forth. It has a fairly deep groove running around the circumference and there are three tiny ventilation holes drilled into the groove so this part of the lid does require a bit more care than the pot as far as washing, but I'm literally talking about a couple of seconds, and it is not a problem for me at all. I just use a toothbrush. So far I've used the stockpot to cook pasta, brown meat for a vegetable beef soup that I made on the stove top and roast a tri-tip to be shredded for tacos. I also made oatmeal this morning, accidentally let it boil over (that is how I know this stockpot cleans easily, ha, ha!) and there is no staining and none of that iridescent discoloring that sometimes occurs when stainless steel is overheated. Of course, this stockpot is nowhere near the quality of my made in the USA AllClad, but at 1/4 the price, I wouldn't expect it to be. It is far better than any of the stainless steel stockpots that I have looked in this price range, though. The current price of $64.99 is very reasonable for this well made, high-quality versatile stockpot and I'm really happy to have found it. It arrived in perfect condition, packed in a nice box suitable for gifting.

Not that heavy but good
This is in addition to my Misen collection, but it doesn't feel as heavy. Heat distribution seems good. The bottom is perfectly flat so no shaking or wobbling when liquids are boiling. This 6 quart size is fine for small family meals, but I lean towards my 8 quart pot when I want leftovers. The lid is unique in that it has 3 holes for ventilation. The lid is of decent weight. Overall I think this is a good pot especially if you're looking to transition away from nonstick coatings.
