I am so thankful that you Dimmak Herbs offers this variety of Skullcap powder. It was the only one offered on Amazon. I like to use it as toothpaste occasionally which no one else would enjoy I am sure because the taste is horrendous but highly medicinal!

A synergist increases absorption and bioavailability of other herbs, per Bill Rawls, MD, in his outstanding book "The Cellular Wellness Solution". The benefits of Chinese Skullcap are reported to be antiviral, anti inflammatory, liver protective and neuroprotective. American skullcap ((Scutellaria lateriflora) does not have the same antimicrobial properties. Stephen Harrod Buhner in his definitive herbal treatise "Herbal Antivirals" also specifies the use of Chinese skullcap over the American herb. Consider that the Chinese herbalists have been prescribing the root derived product for centuries with success. There are over 600 journal articles on PubMed on Chinese skullcap, per Buhner. "This difference, aerial part vs root, makes all the difference in the medicinal impacts of the plants." Buhner p.206. Anyone considering adding Chinese skullcap to his regular routine should know that other herbs and pharmaceuticals will be much more potent and pronounced in the body. This is why skullcap (and licorice powder) are considered so important in the Chinese practice and added to many herbal combinations. (Buhner, p.209)
