The reviews are accurate, it works amazingly well.
My kids’ rooms are flooded with sunlight and their planted fish tanks have an algae problem. I recently bought a mini algae magnet for wiping down the walls of the tank and then, bought this 100 micron cloth, thinking that if I wipe down the algae, I want to make sure the water in the tank is filtered very well.Well, the algae magnet worked and took care of the algae on the walls but, the surprise was, this 100 micron cloth filtered the water so well that the algae on the rocks and the glass pebbles all disappeared in a day without my having to remove and rinse them. I was loathe to disturb the plants in the tank to remove the algae on the rocks, it turns out with this added to the filter I didn’t have to.Don’t get me wrong, we use a sponge & ceramic media in the filter, do frequent partial water changes and check the nitrate levels. The water was healthy, clear and very clean, with no visible particles or specs floating around.*But* after adding this 100 micron cloth to the filter, it’s stepped up another level. There is a noticeable difference, it’s crystal clear. My husband, who doesn’t deal with the fish at all, even stopped and commented “Wow, the tank is looking really great! What did you do?” And the betta is zipping around the tank very happily.Important notes:1. Cut to fit and rinse the cloth to remove any loose fuzz before using it.2. I have it setup so first, the water goes thru the sponge, then the ceramic media and finally it all has to be strained through the 100 micron cloth before returning to the tank. The cloth weave is so tight, it will slow the return down and raise the level of water in the filter, so take note.3. When you put it in the filter, *make sure the ROUGH side of the cloth is on the outside.*If the soft side is on the outside, it will spew little cotton particles into your tank.Trust me, I did it wrong at first.

Disappointing
I used this filter material in the filter of my tropical freshwater aquarium. I had a problem with green water algae infestation and after 5 days of use it had not made any difference. I then added a flocculant to the water and within a day the suspended algae had gone. Its good quality material but over priced especially as it does not filter as efficiently as the manufacturer claims.

Slapping a sticker on a bag doesn't means its suitable for aquariums
I really doubt this is for aquariums as one side of the pad has some type of coating which seems more typical on materials used for clothing and limits water flow between the material. It looks like someone bought to much of a clothing liner material and is now trying to flog it off as suitable for aquariums. It didn't really work as suggested so will stick with known manufacturers of aquarium products. I don't recommend this product.
