I dabbled in making sauerkraut with no special equipment on and off for years. They had mixed success, but I always dreaded it and hated the whole progress. This simple wooden tool is a game changer for me! I enjoyed making kraut and thought this is easy for the first time ever! I’m not dreading making the next batch which I think I do sooner. I wish I bought this years ago!

Great for pounding down the sauerkraut

Bought for my brother to save him pounding his ferments with a wooden roller. He’s delighted with it. Says it makes jarring up his ferments and krauts easier. It also washes well.

I took it and sanded and polished it and then I used a nice Teack oil and finished with an absorbing poly finish for a nice Dark Oaky look. It is a heavy duty stomper and works equally as well for using in wood working as a chisel hammer.

Comfortable to grip, has a nice solid weight to it. Well made

This product split after first use, I didn't know how to contact the supplier so left a review, the seller contacted me to arrange a replacement, after the replacement arrived and I had a need to use it, this time it didn't crack. I knew the seller wasn't to blame for the initial cracking, but as I mentioned I didn't know how to contact them. Anyway, the replaced product is crack free after first use. And I appreciate a seller who replaces without issue. I won't hesitate using this seller again.

I make-and eat-5 quarts of homemade kraut a month. This pounder does great on mashing the cabbage to ferment, and on really filling a quart jar FULL. A must have for kraut aficinados. .
