Flexible cable doesn't twist up and get in the way; most comfortable needles to use
This comes with three cables (30", 22", 14") as well as five pair of 5" needle tips (000, 00, 0, 1, 1.5). Screw one 5" needle tip to each end of a 30" cable to make a 40" circular needle. There are also two connectors. This allows you to join all the cables together for one long 66" cable (76" circular needle). Or join any two you wish if you don't want a cable quite so long. In addition to the cables and needles, this set includes a little box to hold all the little parts (connectors, grippy heart, T-pins, stoppers, and useless stitch markers), and the whole works comes in a small bag. There's also a miniature ruler/needle guide. I have no idea why they included such huge stitch markers with tiny knitting needles because I'd have ladders everywhere if I were to use these enormously wide stitch markers with the size yarn that I use with tiny needles. But I didn't buy it for the markers. If you simply hand-tighten things, the needles will unscrew themselves over time. No matter how carefully I watch, I only discover the problem when yarn slips down into the crack and gets snagged on the screw threads leading to a huge mess and needless aggravation. The solution is to not hand-tighten things. ChiaoGoo provides T-pins and a cute little heart-shaped grippy thing for a reason. Since I started using the grippy heart (I was already using the t-pins), I have not had any more needles come unscrewed. Whew! Learn from my mistake and don't take shortcuts here. Use the heart to get a good grip on the needle so you can make a solid connection that won't come unscrewed in the middle of your knitting. The mini cables are smaller than ChiaoGoo's small cables. They are not interchangeable. Photo provided for comparison. I have always preferred wooden needles because they're so much warmer and more comfortable than metal, but unfortunately, small wooden needles have a tendency to break. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that these stainless steel needles are not cold. They are now my favorite needles. Based on what I read in other reviews, the first thing I did when I opened the package was test all the cables and needle tips to make sure there were no manufacturing defects and that everything would connect properly. My set is perfect and I couldn't be happier with it.

Fantastic set for the sock/glove knitter
These little buggers are fantastic. Ever since I got an interchangeable set for the larger sizes (knitpicks), I've been wanting one for the tiny sizes as well. I do everything on interchangeables - flat projects, magic loop, travelling loop... I never reach for straights or DPNs. Prior to these coming out the only interchangeable sock needles I was aware of were the Dyakcraft, and they were prohibitively expensive (not that Chiagoo's are cheap). I believe Hiya Hiya also now has an equivalent set. I currently have in my collection the aforementioned Knitpicks, as well as several Addi fixed circulars. I haven't yet gotten my hands on any Hiya Hiya (but may update my review when I can make a comparison). This are my favorite. The best part is the cable. Some people complain that the cable is stiff and fights them. I find it to be the opposite - it is stiff and it lays flat where I put it and stays in place! My Addi cables fight me all the time - they are horribly curled and no amount of hot water or tugging will put them where I want them. My knitpicks cables are ok but still tend to curl or get in the way. These are the best. The connection is a screw connection. This works for me as I put fairly little torque on my needles. I don't have to use the included key + rubber grip to tighten them, although they do slowly unscrew if I don't use them. If I do use the key and rubber I can't even get the needles back off without getting the key, let alone having them come off while knitting. I can't compare it to the Addi click connection or hiya hiya but I can say that the connection is a lot tighter than my Knitpicks, which do eventually come loose no matter how much I tighten them. The needles are also very strong and easy to use. I haven't managed to bend one yet (my small-size fixed needles in the same diameters are all bent). They allow me to knit at extremely tight gauges without concern for my stitches catching - they always move smoothly across the needles and cables. My one complaint is that the needles are a little long. While 5" needles allows me to apply a lot of leverage, the smallest sizes tend to pinch a nerve in my pinky with the way I hold them. In addition, they would be utterly unsuitable for doing socks without magic loop. That said I'm not certain that 4" needles would be any more comfortable.

I will try to keep this review short: I love these needles!
Okay, so I kept using double pointed needles for knitting gloves and socks. Resisted the magic loop method, I thought it looked complicated and unnecessary. I don’t know why I ordered this mini set of ChiaoGoo needles, but I was in the middle of a sock project when they arrived and switched to the corresponding size mini set and finished knitting the second sock. Wow! What a difference in speed and not nearly as complicated as managing those DPNs. These needles are so fine!!! Sooth and sharp, so be sure your yarn has plenty of twist or take care to avoid splitting it while you knit. The five inch needle size fits nicely in your hand, better than shorties for me. Easy to change the needles on the cord, the set comes with everything you need for that - in a nice little black mesh case with two zippered sections. I like the mesh, it seems sturdy and you can see where your tools are without searching around. Like the other ChiaoGoo products, you will not be able to switch between these needles and the small or large cords without the correct adapters. At this time, I am not aware of the availability of those adapters, which brings me to the only negative here. I like to have multiple projects going, so I see myself purchasing additional mini cords in the future, as only one longer cord is provided. More cords, please! Now we talk about price point. I am finishing the second set of two-at-a-time toe up socks using these Minis. Simply the best way that I have discovered so far: you end up with two identical socks, in less time. Save up for the ChaioGoo Minis if you are seriously interested in making your own custom fitted socks or any fine gauge knitting project. Worth the investment and not as expensive as repeatedly buying progressively priced needles in search of the performance and productivity that you desire (been there, done that). Good yarn is costly, too, so you want your project to reflect all the effort you put into it. Heck, ALL yarn is causing sticker shock these days. Hopefully these fine tools will last many years.

Awesome for Magic Loop Socks
I was nervous about buying these since some circular needles have cables that are too stiff for magic loop. These are wonderful. The cables are very flexible. The needles are nice and smooth. They might be too slippery for knitters who knit more loosely since the fabric can slip off the needles if you’re not careful. The join between the cable and needle is very smooth and doesn’t snag when pulling through the stitches. The tips can come unscrewed from the cables while working, but this is a hazard with any screw-together type. Unlike other reviews, I don’t find that they do that frequently however. This set is a bit pricey, but well worth the money. It’s a good quality set.

I only wish I had acquired these sooner
This is my first interchangeable needle set, although I have been knitting for 30+ years and knitting on circulars for quite some time. I don't know why I have not had these in my life much, much earlier. I did have to learn to use the T-pins as chucks to tighten the needles onto the cables, but once I learned that, the needle tips remain securely attached and smoothly joined. The range of needle sizes is handy for sock and lacey shawl knitters. There is a hole on the back end of each needle tip (for the T-pin/chuck to tighten it) that is also VERY useful to thread a piece of dental floss or thread through as a safety yarn every couple of inches, in case of emergency ripping out-- that floss/thread running through a row of stitches will guarantee one row of stitches being held. The cable is very flexible and stays out of my way. The kit comes with three cables in different lengths, and the lengths can be joined for a longer cable as well. The mesh carrying bag works very well to organize all the pieces. In all, the whole package has been very well thought-out.

I must’ve gotten a returned set.
Let me start by saying, I absolutely love Chiaogoo needles. They are my favorite brand bar none. I own over the shorties, the regular interchangeable needles and over 25 fixed circular in several sizes. I ordered these minis to take to retreats to lighten my knitting bag but they were obviously pre-used & abused as you can see from the pictures. The threads were completely broken off the 2mm needle, there were stitch markers missing, the silicone heart looked marred, the cables were bent. These should have went in the dumpster, not to another customer. I will say, this will not deter me from purchasing more Chiaogoo in the future, they really are that good! I am giving the actual product 5 stars because I highly recommend the Chiaogoo brand. I just got a lemon on this one order…they are being returned and I will be purchasing another set from a yarn store locally.

Great for Socks! Completes the Interchangeable Set
This ChiaoGoo set is absolutely perfect for socks or lacework needing small needles. It completes the Twist Interchangeable Needle Set (from US 2 to US 15) by starting on US 000 and going up to US 1.5, perfect sizes for working socks. Like all the Chiaogoo needles, the cords are the best feature. They don't have memory so they won't bend in weird places like other needles I've worked with, which makes them perfect for use in Magic Loop for socks and two-at-a-time. With the combination of the Twist Interchangeable Set and this Mini Set, I can basically donate and gift my old needles! I have no need for them anymore. If you're debating whether you'll like this, buy a pair of the regular attached ChiaoGoo Needles with the red cord to try them out before you buy this set. I bet you anything you'll love the needle and cord combination and end up purchasing the interchangeable sets. Furthermore, the needles are very lightweight and the connection is seamless. Be sure to use the key to tighten the cords so they don't fall off! This set comes with a heart-shaped grip that's perfect for tightening the needle to the cord. If you knit all the time, simplify your life by investing in this set and the larger interchangeable from ChiaoGoo.

These are amazing, versatile needles
These needles are amazing, they're exactly what I needed, and I love them. They work incredibly well and feel amazing in my hands. Being able to change needle lengths, and use needle sizes that I'm already using in another project is so good. Definitely an amazing product.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!
