No counter
Pro. Unit works well and installed easily. Device is truly made in the USA.Con. The description inaccurately states the device comes with an LCD resettable counter. It does NOT. Customer service informed me this feature was discontinued by the manufacturer however the online description still reflects old information . The instructions that came with the device also referred to an LCD counter. If this feature is key for you continue looking.

I'd buy another.
This thing was simple to set up and works great. I wish it was just a little less sensitive to smaller objects like geese and such. It has picked up deer and coyotes crossing the end of the driveway in the early am but that's fine. The only thing that really bothers me is the early to late morning sun can set it off a couple times. The counter works great but if you lose power the counter resets. Again not a big deal. It's nice to see if people stopped in while we're away. Overall I paid more for this than I could have but I'd rather buy American than get something cheap, made with what is basically slave labor.

Its about 300 yards from the censor at the end of a very long steep driveway and it works perfect. Its loud enough so I can hear
I am skeptical and don't believe most reviews but you can believe this one for sure. I wish I could post pics of how I have this set up at my house I wont because I'm a little paranoid. I have a security system with 4 cameras and a receiver that's hidden in an upstairs closet. That's where I put the alarm for the driveway alert. Its about 300 yards from the censor at the end of a very long steep driveway and it works perfect. Its loud enough so I can hear it downstairs and would wake me up if someone came in the driveway while I was asleep. I live pretty much in the mountains and anyone coming in my driveway is suspicious to me, Maybe the teckies that design this model could add an app for a phone alert too. I would be willing to pay extra for it. I can view my security cameras from my I pad or phone and if the driveway alert pinged my phone when it goes off, if I wasn't at home I could see just who is in my driveway. So far it has exceeded my expectations by far. I am impressed (very impressed) with the range and that it works with the alarm hidden so far away. we'll see how long the batteries last and how it weathers the elements of the great Northwest. So far fantastic.

Great product!
Our last driveway alarm quit working after about a year. After reading the reviews on Amazon I ordered the Driveway Informer from Safeguard Supply. We’ve been very happy with it from day one!We live in the country. Our entry drive is about 1000’ long. Tried other driveway alarms with dissipointing results. This item works as advertised, at least in our application. The transmitter is mounted to a tree 520’ from the receiver. Very clear view to the house but our house has a brick exterior and there is another interior brick wall inside the house. No problem with all those solid surfaces, the alarm works perfectly. I really like the volume control. Instructions were just OK but set up was easy. Also has a counter which could come in very handy in certain circumstances. It will scan a large area and that seems to be the only down side for us because deer walking in front of the Tx will set it off. That’s a little annoying in the middle of the night. I redirected the Tx and that helped. It’s only be up for a month so I can’t comment on longe term reliability. It is so comforting to know when someone comes down the drive before they get to the house. I can highly recommend the Driveway Informer.

MADE IN THE USA!!!
We have a long driveway, 3/10th's of a mile long that goes down a hill, with a couple curves, all surrounded with huge trees. Placed this near the end of the driveway. Detects motion from quite a distance. Definately worth the money! Just buy it ... made in the USA!

Good product
Had it now for about 3 months now. Has not missed a single car using my driveway. Picks up a lot of wildlife but I have the sensitivity set high. Wanted something that was loud and this fits the bill. Had to turn down the volume. Very easy to install and use.

Did not last.
Worked good for a couple of years, but when it stopped working I replaced the batteries, but still not working. (It is not the receiver as I have 2 of them, neither working)

Four Stars
Seems to work as advertised. After having the thing in operation for a few weeks now, here is something you may wish to consider. First, the Driveway Informer works very well! However, the sensor will ding dong no matter what or who passes within its considerable range. As a result, living in a rural area with lots of deer and other nocturnal animals, we get many ding dongs each night and at all hours. You can unplug the receiver, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having it in the first place. So, just know that if you are a light sleeper, be prepared to hear ding dongs at all hours of the night. We have gotten somewhat accustomed to the alarm but again that sort of defeats its purpose. Would I buy it again, I thing I would go with a magnetic sensor of the type you bury underground.
