The Unfair Advantage Paperback – September 13, 2016

Being married for 40 years, I could identify with life's journey of growing as individuals and as a couple. Sharing life and being gracious toward each other in all circumstances is found in a marriage that is always transforming into what God desires it to be and become. The Unfair Advantage encourages the reader to not settle for a mediocrity relationship, but to dive deeper into self and each other to discover the best of what God has blessed you with as a couple. An excellent read for married people of all ages and those wanting to experienced the best marriage relationship possible.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Christian, and this is one of the best books on marriage that I have encountered. I've learned so much, it has transformed my view of marriage, and I've recommended it countless times to those with whom I'm working and serving. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Dr. Arnold sheds new light on marriage in The Unfair Advantage via an unexpected passage in Scripture: Second Peter 1:3-11. At first glance, it has nothing to do with marriage, but Dr. Arnold makes it clear it has everything to do with marriage.It has everything to do with marriage because it is about intentional, personal Faith, with God at the center. This is the Unfair Advantage we have over the 'difficult times, decisions and experiences’ we face as couples.Dr. Arnold clearly lays out the importance of seven semi-sequential graces that must all be active for a robust personal faith and for a robust marriage. Just when I thought I had heard all of the central concepts of marriage spoken in the bible, I was introduced to Dr. Harold Arnold's book, The Unfair Advantage. It's amazing how God speaks to us in places where we least imagine, and He proves it again through Dr. Arnold. This book brings to light the challenges of marriage and the ultimate destruction of the marital bond if not nurtured and respected. We can expect to make mistakes and have misunderstandings within our marriage, but we have to be open to recognizing and acknowledging these setbacks so we can move forward as a couple. Grace provided by Him enables us to forgive and learn from the situations we face on our marital journey. I encourage married couples to read this book and grow together on a deeper biblical level than they have ever experienced!

After reading the book, The Unfair Advantage...certain words came to mind. POWERFUL, WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, GROWTH, FAITH, SACRIFICE...and the list goes on. I began to underlined & highlighted things I wanted to personally always remember!! Because of reading The Unfair Advantage, my husband & I will have a guideline to help us navigate through those difficult times that are sure to come. I personally thank Dr Arnold, for being transparent & candid about faith & marriage. We look forward to enhancing our marriage, by using his book for years to come. We enjoyed reading The Unfair Advantage because of Dr. Harold Arnold' approach to a grace inspired marriage. One would think its about a troubled marriage but to the contrary. Its about a blessed grace filled marriage because of what Jesus did for us.
