There is no equalizer so what you hear is what you get. The volume can be turned up and at about midway, I can hear it anywhere in my 1100 sq ft house. I'm listening to albums from the 60s and 70s so I love the sound. Reminds me of my childhood. I highly recommend this record player of you're just dusting off the old vinyl!!! **Q: can the stylus be replaced?** A: I believe you can replace the stylus. a if you look closely near the stylus you can see the red plastic piece with the stylus. These are replaceable and sold on amazon as well. **Q: After reading all the comments, I still can't tell whether you can play the unit through an added bluetooth speaker. The answers go both ways?** A: On the listing page, it says you can stream from your phone to the record player. We bought a recorder player that does automatically connect to our Google speaker and plays that way.
