Totally Awesome Must Buy It Now!
This little speaker really gets loud! I was totally amazed at the sound quality. I am an audiophile, and I have to say that the sound is spectacular!Radio reception is excellent, but the reason why I purchased this speaker was to play music on SD cards and I am not disappointed at all! So let's get into it shall we?This speaker can shuffle the music. All you need to do is to simply press the menu button, select repeat, which is the first item on the list that pops up and then press the menu key again to go into the section for repeat, then inside the section for repeat, use the right scan button to go down 3 times until you hit the random option. On the random option, press the button on the bottom row in between the right and left keys to select the random option, and then use the left arrow key to move up to the item labeled return and then press that middle button between the right and left keys again, and you will return to the main screen which shows the song playing and so on.Some people who have purchased this speaker said that it doesn't randomly play the music, but it does for a fact. I am a huge fan of shuffling my music, and I won't buy any speaker or player if it doesn't have a shuffle function, or random playback function on it. That's the way that I am.This is really a great little speaker to carry around with you, and like I said, it sounds great!. Now I must tell you that yes, it does have two speakers for stereo separation, but because of the way that this speaker is built; you can't really get good stereo separation from it at all. That's the only letdown about this product. So don't expect it to disturb your neighbors and such, but it does get plenty loud for a small party. If you want full stereo separation, you will need to connect it to either a stereo system or another speaker with better stereo separation by using a male to male patch cord from the headphone jack to the input or line in on the other speaker or stereo system.Oh, and speaking of the random play option, once it is set, it is set meaning that even if you turn off the speaker, it will still be in random play mode so you don't have to go back and set it again. so that's really a cool feature to have especially if you're big into shuffling your music like I am.OK, for those of you who are visually impaired and are not able to read the screen on the device, I am going to walk you through on how you can set up the random play option. If you have the speaker facing you, the screen will be at the top righthand side of the speaker on the front. Just below the screen are 6 buttons; 3 on top and 3 underneath the first row.The 3 buttons on the top row are mode, blue tooth, and menu with mode being on the far left and the menu button on the right on that same row. Now if you're playing the radio and you want to listen to the SD card and switch to random play, here's what you do.Press the mode button which will take you to the SD card player. Then go to the menu button and press it once. The first option on the menu will be repeat. Press the menu button again on repeat, and then use the right button on the bottom row and press it down 3 times until you land on the random option. Now press the button between the right and left keys on the bottom row to select it. You will then return to the screen where the first menu items are shown. Next, press the left button on the bottom row 1 time to move up to the return option and then press that middle button on the bottom row between the right and left buttons. That will return you to the main screen which displays the songs and other information.I hope that this helps. Like I said, this is a good little speaker and it is worth the money if you ask me especially if you want something that can shuffle your music and give you something really portable to listen to while out and about, or even traveling. Simply bring a bunch of SD cards with you in a case, and you will be all set with music for yourself, or a small party. Also you can use this speaker while it is charging which is a great thing especially if you plan to listen for an extended period of time. Like I said, this is a great little speaker for travel and for small parties. And if you're a huge fan of shuffling your music, then you won't be disappointed in this speaker at all, and speaking of randomly playing the music, unlike many speakers that do shuffle or randomly play, this one actually plays true random meaning that it doesn't have a tendancy to repeat songs unless of course you have more than one copy of the song on your SD card. The random playback function is pretty thorough and does an excellent job with your music by not just playing a select number of random songs. However, I have a suggestion when putting your music onto an SD card, and that suggestion is to not place the music into folders but place all your songs into the root of the SD card. That way, you will be sure to randomly play everything without the player having to do extra work to hop from folder to folder when randomly playing your music. That is what I do with all my music stored on SD cards. I do not store the songs in folders. Everything is in the root of the card.If you purchase this for an elderly individual, just make sure that you set it up to automatically shuffle the music for them prior to giving it to them and load up an SD card with all their favorite tunes so that they can listen to it whenever they want. I honestly think that this is a pretty good little product for the money and I am glad that I purchased it.Oh, and speaking of the SD card, in case you didn't know, and are looking for where the SD card goes, it goes in the bottom of the speaker. That is where the SD card slot is located. Some people say that this doesn't have an SD card slot, but it definitely does and it is on the bottom of the speaker. Now like I said, this isn't going to drown out the neighbors or anything like that, but it makes for a great little personal or party speaker for a small party. It is definitely portable and light weight. So now all you need is a bunch of micro SD cards, a micro SD card case to put them all in and this speaker and you're ready to go! You can take your entire music library with you and enjoy it all without having to pay for streaming or getting on to WiFi because you will have all your own music with you ready to play on the spot!So yes, I urge anyone to get this speaker because it really is a great buy! And, it makes for a great gift for those on your gift giving list. So get it today! Don't wait!Oh, one other thing about connecting this speaker to another speaker. The only way that you're going to rattle your windows and shake the walls is to connect it to a really good speaker system with a lot of bass. Then you can disturb your neighbors with it. haha! Have fun!Update!I have some really great news! I tried playing a 1TB micro SD card in this little speaker, and it actually works! That's right. I had copied all of the music that I have onto a 1TB micro SD card, and it plays within this little speaker. Now you have to realize that you will have to wait for a bit while the speaker reads the card and such, but once it has finished reading and playing the music, it will play everything on the card. And, if you have the speaker set to shuffle mode, then all that wonderful music that you have stored on that 1TB micro SD card will play randomly. It's like streaming your own streaming music service but without the WiFI, or Internet connection, or the feas that go along with streaming services. So go ahead, purchase a 1TB micro SD card, load it up with your entire collection and then just let the tunes play!

FInally fixed the sound and battery life
Unlike the previous, smaller-brother product (Avantree 850-BLK), which I own and still like, this product is the grown-up version with two speakers (stereo) and a removeable 18650 lithium-ion battery which can be recharged with a USB-C cable off any computer.I use these 'remote speakers' exclusively to play MP3 music and talk programming from a micro-SD card on the slot. I make up the music mix off my computer and copy the files to the SD card just to play them in the Avantree 860 Portable Radio Speaker. The sound is 'beautiful', as only modern tiny speakers using rare-earth magnets can reproduce. Very nice bass. The bigger battery can also push more watts into the speakers, giving it fuller, richer sound. And best of all, I can listen to it at night as I go to sleep and it will still be playing in the morning when I wake up.For whatever it's worth, it has an FM radio function with a beautiful dial on the LCD display so I can see it scan the dial. It displays the station frequency in big letters. It also has BlueTooth connectivity (which I don't use), and even has a button selectable 'geek mode' for whoever wants to waste their time rooting through submenus and functions and god only knows what. I avoid that stuff. Oh, yeah, unlike the little brother Avantree 850, this model has an FM telescoping antenna for 'Enhanced FM Reception'. And best of all, the price is reasonable. Thanks Avantree!

A tiny table radio that fits in your pocket!
What a great little table radio! The volume knob is a nod to the past, and it makes the one input that works better as an analog a delight. When I put the radio in my breast pocket the knob on the side makes adjusting the volume a snap. The sound is quite impressive by the way.The list of features includes a nifty wrist strap (because you will want to carry this unit everywhere you go), a direct input numeral pad along the top, nine direct presets (one for each digit), and over 25 preset FM stations that the radio has found via its initial scan. The type-C charging port is also a big improvement over the mini-USB the previous model had. Most importantly, this unit uses first-rate components and has an exceptionally high build quality.

Inexpensive, but works well for my workout room
This radio/buuetooth unit has a built-in rechargable battery that lasts 8-12 hours and can be charged with a plug in cell charger and included USD-C cable. It has an antenna for FM stations and will pull in my favorite stations from 30 miles away. Once sete up, The bluetooth automatically connects to my phone so I can play playlists from my phone. The controls on the radio can be used with my music app (Mediamonkey) to skip songs or replay. The bluetooth does not drop out from 15 feet. The speakers are small and givee out good treble and mid-ramge, but don't expect booming bass. There is also a 2.5 mm stereo input and female to female cable included. You can also play from a USB stick but I did not try this feature. That uses a USB A input on the radio. All in all, worth the money to me.

Great sound volume
I bought this to use as a MP3 player for my work shop.Had doubts it would have volume to hear over my power tools; to my surprise it is great.Only thing was the description says MP3 plays off SD card but should mention a micro SD is required and most computers use SD and to download music you'll need a micro SD 32 GB w/ adapter.Had to order and wait 3 days extra 8.95 cost.Totally worth it but if I'd known up front would have ordered @ same time of ordering player.
