RA250 Rugged Air Child Aviation Headset : desertcart.in: Electronics Review: I got this for my two (now three) year old to use in a C172 and T182 with me, and it works great. It fit him well at 2, fits him well at 3, and the mic boom the perfect length for kids. Review: Looks okay. Granddaughter has yet to use this headset.

These attracted my eye mainly because they were red and at a great price point for headsets. I've been using these for two months of private pilot flight training and they have held up great so far. I am an adult female and have had no issues with them being uncomfortable, even during my longer 2+ hour lessons. No headaches. They are, of course, not comparable to the more expensive active noise cancelling headsets, but for a student pilot who is just getting started and doesn't know how much they want to commit (certainly not $1k for Bose headsets!), these are a great deal. Although I have not had to use it so far, it is worth nothing that these headsets do come with a 7 year warranty-- just make sure you register your new headset with Rugged Air. It's a quick and easy process on their website. I am heading into the cross country portion of my training so I may end up updating this review but I don't foresee having any problems with the headset for cross country.

My regular headset kept falling off my son while I was flying. Sometimes I had to let go of the controls and help re-adjust the headset so he could hear me, or he would have to practically hold the headset on the whole time. He also had to hold the mic to his lips in order for me to hear him also. I had to do something about it. I found this headset, and it was about the cheapest I could find anywhere, so I gave it a shot. I was a little skeptical at first but I figured for that price It was worth not figiting around in the cockpit and flying all over the place trying to fix my 5 year old's headset. I tried it on him at home and adjusted it so that it was the perfect size for him and took him out flying within the week. The headset works great and is loud enough and not only that but if he gets board while flying, he can hook up his Ipad to the headset and listen to it and play games and hear them at the same time... AWESOME!!!! Great headset.. Really glad I bought it, no more sliding around and I can focus on flying now and not worry about looking at him and seeing a headset wrapped around my sons nose. 4 stars because the mic boom is still a little long in my opinion for my son.
