Inexpensive polyfuse, but current when open still ~1.5A
The self-resetting fuse (polyfuse or polyswitch) works as advertised and has low "off" resistance (<0.1Ω), but note two caveats in use:The switch point is heat sensitive (as are all such fuses), and might trigger at lower current in warm weather, or far higher current in cold.Even when in the "open" state, 1.5A or so still flows. If your use requires a completely open circuit, use a relay with this device.

Having never run across this particular variety of fuses, these intrigued me. So, they were ordered.The fuses arrived overnight which is as fast as it gets in this area. They were inside a small zip-lock bag and no signs of damage were noted.These fuses are small: The bodies measure around 3/8" square and the leads are 1/2" long.They are rated for 16 volts DC and 5 Amps. But, the most impressive aspect is their automatic reset function once power is removed. I checked these at 5 and 12 volts DC and they functioned as expected.
